Carabao Diving Koh Tao in Koh Tao Island

I did my Open Water at Carabao and it was such a good experience overall.

The whole setup is great , the classes were clear and easy to follow, and everything felt very professional but relaxed at the same time. Everyone there is super friendly and welcoming, which makes a big difference when you’re learning something new.

Loris was my instructor and honestly, he made all the difference. On the first day I had a bit of a panic because I was having trouble with my mask and I felt really overwhelmed. He stayed calm, talked me through it and helped me relax. I never felt judged or pressured. If it wasn’t for him, I’m not sure I would have continued. But thanks to his patience and support, I gained my confidence back and ended up really enjoying the whole course.

Also, the restaurant is great. Really good food and such a nice place to hang out after diving.

Very grateful for the experience. I would definitely recommend Carabao to anyone thinking about doing their course.

Great team at Carabao!
We did 4 fun dives between our group, one Bubble Maker and one Advanced open water course. They even gave us a room to stay while one of our group members completed his course!
Rooms are basic, yet super clean and even with a/c and fan 💫
Restaurant food is also very tasty and very reasonably priced. If you are looking for the " no frills" , friendly, experience this is the place to be.

Absolutely incredible experience with the Carabao diving school! From start to finish, everything was professional, safe, and perfectly organized.
Our instructor, Loris, was outstanding. He is extremely patient, explains everything clearly, and creates a calm and confident atmosphere underwater. You can truly see how passionate he is about diving. He made us feel safe at all times and turned every dive into a relaxed, fun, and unforgettable experience.
Thanks to him, we learned so much and enjoyed every single moment. If you’re diving in Carabao, make sure to ask for Loris, you won’t regret it.

Lovely staff that picked us up from the pier, and then greeted by the reception team which were super helpful and welcoming!
Checked in to our room, very spacious, she asked if we wanted more blankets and advised that we can get our towels changed daily.
Great location, as you are near the viewpoint and the most amazing beaches on the island.
The restaurant and bar on sight is lovely too, we had food there one night and the prices are super reasonable
And let me just say, the little boy called Coco, made our day everyday we stayed there
We stayed here for 6 nights, and the only downside was there was no cleaning services… so the room got dirty pretty quick.

I spent just over a week here doing my open water certificate and then decided to extend my stay as I loved the resort itself and wanted to do some fun dives. The course was brilliant and Marco made it engaging, safe and fun. The fun dive was also great thanks to Eduardo. I stayed in both the double room and dormitory. The double rooms are great with plenty of space and a nice balcony. The dormitory is basic but for the price you can't really complain! The restaurant is also brilliant and the pool is an added bonus. Really enjoyed my time here and has been the highlight of Koh Tao.

Stayed here with my partner for 3 nights to do the open water diving course & a refresher for him. I didn’t complete the course due to my own issues but my partner continued to go out and dive with the group and I was allowed to come and just chill on the boat which was lovely. Matteo the manager was really understanding and incredibly friendly and approachable and made our stay very memorable. The rooms are very simple but it’s to be expected with the price as the rooms are very much hostel style. Lots of backpackers come and go so great to meet new people. Our room had a balcony with a beautiful sea view and a clothes rail to hang wet clothes. We had burgers twice at the adjoining restaurant, mine was a vegetarian burger which I was pretty impressed with as it was a homemade bean burger - very tasty. Some other great places to eat & drink locally too, a really nice community vibe. Overall we had an amazing time! We were very sad to be leaving. The diving course package is great value for money, there’s a very friendly atmosphere here and in a beautiful location. Thank you!

Diving: A must for new divers. The staff are professional and knowledgable. I went into the class feeling anxious about going underwater, but our instructor, Marco, made me feel safe and confident that I was ready to take the dives. The rates are very fair and worth the bill.
Accommodations: A/C was amazing and made it a nice place to cool down. Spacious rooms. The bathroom was very basic but did the job, hot water ran continuously.
Restaurant: Recommend the Club Sandwich & Pad Thai. Good prices and a variety of choices. The staff are friendly and attentive.

I could go on and on about how great these guys are...The grounds are fresh and clean, beautiful and comfortable. To and from diving is easy, the boat is parked right out front. No congestion at the pier like most other shops have to deal with. Brand new pool, right on the beach. Above and beyond cool staff. Helpful and fun. Delicious restaurant and bar. Very near high bar!!!! Did I mention how slick their dive operation is....I saw their flyer in Bangkok and I was thinking the flyer looks outdated and boring but the actual facilities were anything but. Hey guys, make a new crisp flyer to show the world how bright you shine!!!
