Coral View Resort Hotel in Koh Tao Island

Have absolutely loved our stay here. All staff were wonderful. Rooms clean and simple with wonderful wooden features. Made our trip very easy and relaxing with a touch of adventure with scuba diving. Small boat, small crowds. Very intimate setting right by the beach. All around quiet and relaxing vibes with nice people.

Hidden gem in Koh Tao! We stayed over NYE and booked last minute when there weren’t many options on the island left. We were worried it might be too isolated, but this was not the case. The beach is beautiful and is never crowded, the view at breakfast is beautiful and the rooms are great. You can also rent a scooter at reception and get around the island easily. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Coral View Resort, Koh Tao for one week. The place itself is absolutely beautiful — quiet, private, and perfect for anyone who loves snorkeling and marine life. The beach is stunning, the water is crystal clear, the rooms are spotless, and the staff around the resort (not the restaurant) are kind, polite, and hardworking.

But I have to be 100% honest — the restaurant is a total disaster. The food is bad, the service is worse, and the attitude from the kitchen and management is completely unacceptable. I tried giving it several chances — five times in total — and every time it was awful. The food was cold, tasteless, and overpriced. For the amount of money people spend to reach this island, it’s simply not fair to be treated like this.

Management must completely replace the restaurant team — the chef, the kitchen staff, and the manager. They are destroying the reputation of what could otherwise be a perfect resort.

It’s a shame because everything else was wonderful. The location is paradise, but the restaurant experience was a nightmare. I hope this review wakes up the management before more guests are disappointed.

Very nice resort in a small private bay with only one other resort to share. Great location for snorkeling and diving directly at Shark Bay (there are actual reef sharks and turtles). Staff is helpful und speaks very good English. Room cleaning came every day with free water and toiletries. If you are looking for a calm stay to relax this is the place for you. But that is also the problem: there is no bike renting at the hotel and getting to the town is quite a hike. The hotel offers transfers to town and pier three times a day (50-100 TB), the last back is at 9.30 pm. Due to its secluded spot, the prices for restaurant / laundry / drinks are quite high. We felt a little overcharged.

I haven't been to the resort, just to the beach. It's easy to get there on foot (if you don't consider the steep hills to come back). Very beautiful place, with clean water. They won't complain if you take your own food and water in your backpack. Very good for snorkeling, with crystal blue water. Visit it if you can =)
