Lub d Koh Tao Tanote Bay in Koh Tao Island

I recently stayed at Lub d Koh Tao, and I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had on the island. The bungalow-style atmosphere gives a beautiful classic tropical vibe — peaceful, charming, and perfectly blended with the natural surroundings. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying the sea breeze right from the property made the stay feel truly special and relaxing.
What made this experience exceptional, however, was the outstanding service from Olivia, one of the serving staff members. From the very first interaction, she welcomed us with a genuine smile and warm energy that instantly made us feel comfortable. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and natural hospitality truly elevated our dining experience.
Olivia has a graceful and classic service style — attentive without being intrusive, efficient yet calm. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and provided thoughtful menu recommendations with confidence and knowledge. Every interaction felt sincere and personal, which is rare and very much appreciated.
It’s not just about good service; it’s about how someone makes you feel — and Olivia made us feel valued and well taken care of throughout our stay. She reflects the high standards of hospitality that Lub d Koh Tao represents.
If you’re looking for a beachfront bungalow-style stay with a vibrant yet relaxing atmosphere and world-class service, this is the place. I will definitely return, and I truly hope to be served by Olivia again. Highly recommended!

I am a solo traveler and was made to feel very welcome by the incredible staff. They even surprised me with a birthday song and sticky rice. The hut was large, clean and AC worked efficiently. You can't beat the location, right on the beach. Snorkeling in Tanote Bay was fun.
It is a really chill atmosphere, with a mix of families and couples. It was not loud. It had a real jungle feel to it. The all day breakfast was fantastic. They will arrange taxis for you to go anywhere on the island.
I am forever grateful for my time at spent at this special place.

An absolute gem with greatest service 💯🙏

🛌 The familyroom was spacious, clean and had a huge balcony. The beds were super comfy.

🗺️ Location is the best you can find in Koh Tao if you’re in to snorkeling and chilled out beach life. No smell of weed and party noises, absolutely stunning beach, corals and sea life.

🥙 Food in Lub d restaurant is good; both thai and western food was amazing. Breakfast was the best we’ve had in – I mean, how often can you order perfect eggs benedict or avocado toast in Thailand?

🙏 But the best of all was the staff. 10/10 points of all help we received. Especially Kiat is a treasure they should never let go and need to reward him of excellent customer service. I had an accident when we arrived; my leg fell through the terrace and got a bit hurt. They helped me right away but also gave us a voucher and began renovating the terrace the next day. A great example of how you can turn unfortunate situations for guest satisfaction.

Very nice hotel, staff are very friendly and helpful, our children fall in love with Mew! Rooms are renovated (the main building), quiet and beds are very comfortable. Beach is great for snorkeling. Hotel located a bit outside - there are no shops or restaurants around, but you can always get a taxi for affordable price. Breakfast is very good, and hotel restaurant is not bad, but it is better to order Thai food there. We are definitely going to come back!

Amazing stay! The staff instantly made us feel welcome — especially Mew and Olivia. They were always in a positive mood, happy to chat, and shared the best local tips with us! 🌴

The location is also great. A beautiful and secluded beach surrounded by nature, with sunshine all day and great cocktails. The room was clean and nicely decorated, and the included breakfast was a lovely surprise. Overall a really good experience!

The beautiful resort is located on Tanote Bay which is quite remortely located away from the main party spots like Sairee beach.. But for that bargain what you get is a private beach and a resort built within nature. The staff are friendly and resourceful. A word of caution if you plan on renting a scooter the roads to and from the resort are steep and dark at night. The resort arranges for transport at a nominal cost at sheduled times which is advised. The resort also has its own Scuba PADI courses. Breakfast is good with a decent buffet.
Overall enjoyed our stay at Montalay!

You will snorkel your ass of, have Incredible nice rooms and super Service. The only 'disadvantage' is that you have to deal with a lot of germans ;).
If you want to change money or use an atm you have to go to the pier. You can go by taxi or renting a scooter (2 min walk from hotel). Official taxi to the pier and back is ridicolous expensive.
The montalay resort has no computer at the reception(in case you have to print something or whatever), there are possibilities at the pier.
Make sure you jumped off the big rock at the montalay beach, its worth it!

This hotel is really comfortable with a very helpful staff that can arrange from pick ups to ferry tickets back to mainland. I chose a room with Fan because I'm familiar with the islands and is not necesary to have an A/C running is fresh and breezy enough. The hotel is enclosed in Tanote Bay that gives you spectacular sunrise and sunset. The beach of the Hotel is of coral and you can spot lots of fishes. You can rent snorkeling gear at the hotel. The hotel provides an schedule for transportation to the pier and pick ups as well if you are going for diving the hotel has their own dive shop and unfortunately due my short visit i couldn't try but they also offer yoga classes. Great choice of hotel if you are looking to rest and enjoy this quiet and spectacular bay.

Full service for scuba diver. Accommodation is great as well as dive center. Service is great as well.
