Reviews
I've traveled a lot around the world and stayed in slums. But somehow this place is the worst by far. Briefly:
1. The rooms arent by the beach as advertised, they are on the main street. The bass from the loud music of the famous drag show is literally rocking my room as I'm typing. Street noise in general is unbearable until 3 AM.
2. AC is just a fan, doesnt cool at all.
3. Ants, moths, mosquitos, lizards EVERYWHERE.
4. Water pressure is extremely low, making it impossible to shower and the toilet barely flushes.
5. The guys at the reception dismissed my complaints and pretty much ignored me, pretending not to understand. Using a translation app I kindly asked them to cancel my remaining nights. They said its not possible.
I arrived with my friend at 16:30 (check-in is from 2:00 PM). After a long trip, my friend was sick and we were exhausted — we just wanted to rest.
There was no greeting, no “hello,” nothing. The first thing they said was, “Is this you?” while showing us a printed Agoda paper. Not welcoming at all.
Our room wasn’t even ready. A staff member opened the door and was clearly surprised to find it still occupied from previous guests. We had to wait another 30 minutes for them to prepare it.
When we finally got in (Room 9215), the problems continued:
• There was no internet in the room, which was unacceptable as I needed to work.
• The air conditioning was leaking. A staff member entered the room in the middle of the day while my friend was sleeping to fix it. There was noise and disruption for about 30 minutes.
• No one informed us about breakfast — we had to ask ourselves.
• No one mentioned the shuttle service either.
• At 4 AM, the AC started leaking again. I woke up and couldn’t fall back asleep because of the constant dripping.
• The electricity was going on and off multiple times during the day.
When I reported the AC issue again at reception, the staff member simply smirked and laughed in our faces. That reaction alone says everything about the level of professionalism here.
I’ve been living in Thailand for 1.5 years and I truly love this country. I have never had such a disappointing experience anywhere here. This stay completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
Very unprofessional, poorly managed, and extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
The Good
• The Bed: Easily the highlight of the stay. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, which was a lifesaver given the other issues.
• Staff: The team here is wonderful. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, doing their best to be helpful throughout my stay.
• Location: You are right in the heart of the action, which is perfect for exploring Koh Tao.
The Not-So-Good
• The Noise: Be warned—if you aren't out partying, you won't be sleeping early. The club music is incredibly loud and pumps consistently until about 2:00 AM.
• Room Condition: The rooms felt very "tired" and neglected. I noticed significant peeling paint on the walls, giving the space a worn-down feel.
• Plumbing Woes: This was the biggest dealbreaker. The shower drain didn't work properly, and the toilet frequently flooded, which was both frustrating and unhygienic.
• The Smell: There was a constant, unpleasant odor in the room that shifted between sewage and dampness. It made it difficult to feel relaxed or "clean" while inside.
Final Verdict: If you are a heavy sleeper who plans to party until 3:00 AM and only needs a comfy mattress to crash on, the location might be worth it. Otherwise, the maintenance issues and smell make it a tough place to recommend until they do some serious renovations.
During our entire stay we had problems with mice in our room. They closed a few holes in the walls, but the mouse kept coming back. Our belongings were damaged by gnawing and our food was eaten. Sleeping was almost impossible because of this. After three nights we were offered the option to move to another house, but only if we paid extra.
The room was never cleaned unless we went to the reception twice a day to ask them to please come and clean it. Overall, this was a very exhausting holiday due to constantly having to follow up on issues, the mice, and the severe noise disturbance.
Dirty sheets. We found a big stain on the sheets.
No reception at night so we could not talk to anyone to replace the dirty sheets
Not recommended at all!!!
