Horizon Bungalow Restaurant and Bar in Lanta Island

I stayed at Horizon Bungalow on Koh Lanta and paid around USD 100 per night for a beachfront bungalow. The location is genuinely nice—the beachfront setting is lovely and the sunsets are absolutely stunning, easily one of the highlights of the stay. The property also has a cute puppy and an Egyptian cat roaming around, which added some charm and warmth to the experience.
That said, there were several drawbacks worth noting. My bungalow was located right next to the DJ station, so it was loud for most of the day. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this can be a real downside. The room itself was quite basic: there was no electric kettle, which meant I couldn’t even make instant noodles, and no hair dryer, which was inconvenient. Mosquitos were a significant issue—there were a lot of them, and they still managed to get into the room even with the doors closed, likely through gaps around the bathroom area. Definitely bring strong bug spray, and plenty of it.
The restaurant food was decent overall, but service was noticeably slow, so patience is required. Location-wise, it’s fairly convenient and easy to get around, which is another plus.
Overall, if I were judging purely on comfort and amenities, this would be closer to a 2-star stay. However, the beachfront location, beautiful sunsets, and the friendly animals really elevate the experience. Taking everything into account, I’d give it 4 stars, especially if you value scenery and vibe over quiet and room amenities.

Best bar to hang out in Koh Lanta. Pad the owner and his staff are so welcoming. The service is great. The atmosphere with the band / Karaoke. The food is good and we had so much fun with the people that were there every evening. We already miss this place and send our regards.

practically on the beach, nice atmosphere, after a few hours of swimming and sun we had an aperitif on the bench admiring the sunset with pleasant music in the background, a pearl in the beautiful Kho Lanta We returned the next day for dinner and it met our expectations, magical eating with your feet on the beach

Great location for a fab sunset, great value beers and cocktails. Right on the beach for a chilled laid back vibe you can sit on deck chairs or massive beanbags. Highly recommend this place for food or pre dinner drinks. Friendly staff and helpful staff. Andy is fab a really really nice guy.

We went there several times with our children for dinner. The food is averagely good, as in other restaurants on Klong Nin Beach. There was enough choice for the children. I would like to say something very positive about the staff. The children were well looked after with Yahtzee, Jenga and Connect 4. On a quiet evening my children were allowed to juggle and since there was not much going on a young waiter spontaneously put on a little fire show. These evenings on the beach were indescribably beautiful!

Really nice bar to sit in the sand and drink cocktails listening to the waves and watch the sunset. We came a second night to eat and had great food. They sometimes have fire shows and really good music. They had a DJ one of the nights during our stay.
