Moonlight Bay Resort in Lanta Island

This hotel has quite a few different room offerings. We had a Pool Access room, which was great. The pool water was glorious. Because of the sprawled setup of the hotel, you have a short walk from our room block to the bar and main pool. We didn’t spend much time in our room, but we did spend the end of the day at the bar enjoying the wonderful sunsets. That sunset is well worth staying at the hotel.

I was also introduced, for the first time, to hermit crabs that would scurry along the beach sand — what a treat.

We had the BBQ, which was superb, and really enjoyed the fire show organised by the hotel.

Staff: The staff were always super helpful, and it was obvious that they were genuine in their approach. I absolutely loved the energy of the bar lady that makes a mean Piña Colada. We had the pleasure of having drinks with Frederico, the GM, and it was obvious that he has a massive passion and sense of dedication for this property and his staff.

Location: The location was perfect, and we found the most gorgeous Klong Nin Beach about a seven-minute ride away.

A quiet hotel, a bit of from other restaurants and night life. Stayed at a Beach front villa, a good sized room with the most beautiful view of the ocean and sunset. The room had a smell of sewage that came and went, noticed that the rest of the hotel sometimes had that smell. We have experienced that at other hotels in Thailand as well.
Very good breakfast (à la carte). Small private beach for the hotel.
Absolutely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a relaxing few days.

Lovely chilled place! We had a Villa with 2 terraces overlooking the sea. Room is cleaned well. It was up on the cliff-side so a bit of a trek to get to but worth it!
The pool is small it sweet but there are plenty of loungers round the pool and overlooking the beach.
The bar has a lovely sea view. Food is good in the restaurant too.
Staff are delightful.

From the moment we arrived there, me and my husband knew this place would be amazing. The hotel area is clean and well maintained, there’s a private beach - you can swim a little bit, check out the coral reefs and see nemo fishies and plenty of beautiful sea shells (just don’t take them), bar, restaurant and massages right by the sea. The sunsets were incredible to watch from the bar area or from the beach itself. The place itself was amazing but it was the staff that made this stay absolutely incredible and unforgettable. The kindest and warmest people in the world. We will definitely come back when we visit this beautiful island again!

It was a truly beautiful place with a great setup. We were a group of six, with two staying in a pool room and four in a villa, and everyone loved it.

The girls in the villa especially enjoyed watching the sunset from the plunge pool in their room. The bar area was also a lovely, comfortable spot to sit and watch the sunset. The setting itself was stunning, with a quiet, private beach and a spa that was reasonably priced.

The staff were amazing and very friendly. The hotel food and drinks were good value during the day, particularly for water and snacks. After staying at a couple of hotels that focused mainly on Western food like chips, burgers, and pizza, I really appreciated having more authentic Thai options here.

It was also very convenient having a taxi rank right outside, with return trips available at a reasonable price.

I stayed here with my partner for 3 nights and we had the most amazing stay.

The staff are all very friendly, the rooms are well furnished, there are two swimming pools, a small gym, table tennis table, and a very large seating area overlooking the beach front. The bed was extremely comfortable, the air conditioning was great and the rest of the room amenities were excellent. I would recommend booking with breakfast included as it is very nice.

The gentleman on reception is extremely helpful. He arranged a scooter rental for us and helped us with anything we needed throughout our visit.

Due to Covid it was extremely quiet, so we were kindly upgraded us to a pool access room and because it was so quiet it was like having a private pool.

We had a free upgrade to a beachfront bungalow...it was wonderful! Highly recommend breakfast in Smoon! and lunch too! Staff were super friendly and helpful!

Super friendly and english speaking staff at the lobby office. The deluxe access room (with the private pool) are awesome! The hotel also have an acces to the sea with a small private beach. Super nice place for a romantic escape ;)
