Lanta Sand Resort & Spa in Lanta Island

The grateful place to be. Rather exclusive compared to other places we've seen. Offering private sun beds in shade, several swiming pools and a beach bar. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms with large balcony for family of 4. That was more than enough.
Service staff was very kind and helpful.
Really nothing to complain about.

We stayed three nights at this hotel and booked one of the villas. These are small standalone houses with two separate entrances, each leading to a hotel-style room.Room FeaturesInside, the room offered a large double bed, a sofa bed, a spacious bathroom, an outdoor shower, and a small private pool. The rooms were excellent—very close to the sea—and guests could freely use the hotel's private beach section with loungers and sofas.

Minor Issues
While the rooms were very good overall, the hotel has been around for a while, so a refresh or renovation in the coming years would be welcome. The beach and bathroom towels were somewhat worn with small holes in places, though they were always clean and freshly laundered.

Outstanding Staff (6 out of 5 Stars!)
The absolute highlight was the staff— all staff members were so incredibly friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Merry (hope I got the name right) at reception, and the lady handling tours, transfers, and scooter rentals (whose name I unfortunately don't know)—they were outstanding! Their service was impeccable; for example, on checkout day, we stored our luggage, enjoyed the beach all day, then showered and freshened up in an available empty room before heading to the airport.

Great Breakfast
The morning buffet was varied and delicious, with options for everyone—from bread and rice to made-to-order eggs and pancakes, fresh fruit, and hot dishes.Thank you for this wonderful stay!

Good location
Not to far from the Pier (roughly an hour walk or 10 minutes by taxi/tuktuk), where the small restaurants and Street Markets are and at a very beautiful beach just in front to enjoy the day.

The hotel has great facilities overall, especially the pool area and the direct access to the beach. We didn’t use the pool at the bungalow though, it just wasn’t very inviting. The beach, on the other hand, was amazing. It is easy to reach, and also never crowded, which makes it incredibly relaxing.

The staff were very attentive, and the drinks at the bar were really good. The only downside is that the rooms have definitely seen better days, you can tell they’re a bit old. Still, overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed our stay.

Our stay at the Lanta Sand Resort and Spa was good overall, especially for a short two-night visit. We booked a villa with a private “small pool,” which has definitely seen better days. The room and bathroom would benefit from some renovation to match the resort’s otherwise high standards.

The rest of the property is very well maintained, with beautiful landscaping and a relaxing atmosphere. One of the highlights is the beachfront area: plenty of loungers are available, and it’s a great spot to enjoy the sound of the waves, the view of the sea, and the warm weather. It’s a peaceful place to unwind, and the location right on the beach adds a lot to the experience.

In summary, it’s a comfortable stay with excellent outdoor facilities, though the villas could use some updating.

We stayed at this resort for 3 days and our stay was very comfortable and enjoyed a lot.
Rooms: Rooms were spacious and clean.
Service: service was quick and staff was very helpful.
Location: Location was perfect, best sunset in the area and the outdoor arrangement and access to beach was excellent. Quite place to spend quality time.
Multiple swimming pool options, two pools near the beach also.
Other services: you can get spa in the resort.
Food: Food is ok, not much options for vegetarians.
Travel desk : please don’t book anything from here they will simply charge you a lot , you can easily get same thing at much cheaper rate from the travel agents near the pier (6 mins drive from the resort)

Comfortable and spacious rooms at a nice resort right on a nice area of the beach. No major complaints aside from the loud music from beach bars and stinky toilet smells in my room.

Just a heads up if you are planning to book an ocean front room the music, noises and level of privacy are not great. Might not be worth the upgrade if you want privacy and quiet.

Passed much nicer looking resorts on the beach that I wish I stayed at for this price or less. Either way the service and staff were great. I didn’t eat at the restaurant as it was extremely expensive, including the bar. Didn’t get to enjoy the pools at all since the set up was awkward and felt off limits. Tons of kids and families staying here.

Loved the lounge area on the beach. This was the highlight for me but would book a different hotel next time.

Had the best time here. Right next to the beach and the rooms are so nice and spacious.

Also the staff made such an effort for my birthday. With special messages on my bed and a floating breakfast. Top.notch hotel

Nice Resort with clean facilities and restaurant right by the beach.

We had to change the room 3 times, which was not now we wanted to start our vacation. But for making up we had a lot of 50% coupons for the bar.
You can tell that the rooms have been renovated recently, but you also realize that they must have been in bad shape before. We had a bad smell in the bathroom which got better when turning on the AC.

Wisinee was our superstar during the trip and helped us organize our tours and transportation. Sweetest soul of the whole team.
Massages were great too and you can rent scooters directly at the Hotel.
Only thing that we didn’t like was the gym. Both bikes and the treadmill were not working.

A really lovely surprise to find during low season on the island! The property feels like a jungle oasis, the rooms are a good size with a king bed and ours had a small plunge pool and outdoor shower, which was a welcome relief in the heat! During low season a lot of the bars and restaurants along the beach are closed, but this resort has a wonderful bar area with large lounge chairs to sit and watch the sunset. A thank you to the staff, especially the lovely women at the information desk who gave us plenty of advice and could help book trips. Also, loved being a short walk from Spring Rolls Restaurant which has a great vegetarian Thai menu!

Pro: The massage lady call Norm was the best massage person I ever had. There was a moment I thought I was in heaven (not smoking weed). I will come back just for the massage. Villa with plunge pool was nice, breakfast was decent, staff was nice. nice gym. Island have cheaper shops compare with other tourist places.
Con: We also stayed in the family room in the apartment. The design is very poor and whole room was so wet with constant noise of the water even when it's not raining. Everything felt very wet and uncomfortable specially in wet season. We also had phone ringing at 3 am twice to wake us up. Not sure if phone malfunction or prank calls. Because its the wet season, waves at long beach is very high, hard to swim. and lots of rubbish get washed up, not as clean beach compare with other island I have been on. I saw avoid the rooms in the apartment complex.
