I booked a 2-night stay at a hotel with no elevator and was on the 4th floor.

The first night, I checked in at around 9:00 PM. The bed was very hard, but bearable. As I lay there, I felt something biting me. I opened the blanket and saw several small fire ants crawling on the bed. When I looked up at the ceiling, I saw many ants on the lightbulbs. I cleaned the mattress and finally got to sleep at around 2:00 AM. I woke up with several bite wounds. I notified the front desk staff to come clean and get rid of the ants.

The second night, the ant problem lessened. I didn't see many ants, but I checked before bed and there were no ants, but there were some on the lightbulbs. The bed was softer and a new mattress topper was installed. But around 3:00 AM, I heard the noise of someone in the next room. It was very loud. There were many people. I was a bit confused as to how the front desk staff allowed so many people to come up, since it was so late. They were laughing, banging on the door, yelling, making phone calls, and moving chairs and things. The walls were very thin. I could hear everything. Even after banging, the noise continued until 7:00 AM when it was quiet. I told the front desk staff what happened, but they said they had no right to stop guests from bringing friends to the room. So, I thought, "This is why you should stay with more than two people." Because there were so many of us and we stayed until morning, the staff couldn't give us any answers except to tell us to accept it.

In short, anyone who wants to stay should decide for themselves. If there hadn't been any issues with ants or loud noises, we might have recommended the stay. But if something were to happen, we'd advise them to think carefully before making a decision.
