New amenities, convenient location and friendly service

I've stayed here 4 times now. One of my favourite hotels. Staff are always great .
Another review mentioned it's a 10 min walk to the beach, that's not true It's 5 tops!
I tend to stay in the smaller rooms as often great deals, but had one of the huge suites last year and it was breathtaking. Separate living area and the bathroom was huge.
Rooftop pool is nice, and so is the food available in the hotel.
On my last stay I had a rear facing room where another huge hotel is being built behind it, so be aware of some possible noise. If in doubt ask the hotel!

Location is good. Rooms are clean. Non-smoking hotel. Parking available. Bathtub has no privacy. Seaview is blocked by other building nearby. Staffs are polite and good.

I wish I could give this hotel zero or negative stars.
Blackwood Hotel Pattaya falsely claims to be 5-star, but the reality is disgusting. The rooms are filthy, poorly maintained, and not even 1-star quality.
The most unacceptable part was to treat guests as criminals instead of checking with their own employees. Completely humiliating and beyond unprofessional.
No respect for guests, no professionalism at all. Save your money and stay elsewhere. Avoid at all costs.

The location is really central. 7 minutes to the Central mall. Some minutes to the beach. Very lovely. Rooms are clean and spacious. The staff very kind. The breakfast is simple but not expensive. Only strange thing is they fine you for bringing food and alcohol to the room so you have to buy theirs or eat and drink outside. This policy makes it a bit strange and I overheard a big discussion about it.

Positives:
1. Nice clean spacious rooms. I booked executive deluxe type as it had bathtub in the balcony with a sea view (partial). I had not seen this type of setup in other hotels so far!
2. Location is good, although there are few bars nearby which can cause noise at night. I didn’t had this issue as my room was on a high floor and facing a quieter alley.
Negatives:
1. The lobby and breakfast areas are quite small. I think there were only 7-8 tables in breakfast area. Many food items are not kept heated. I went 2 times around 7:30am, and both times the egg items were cold.
2. The biggest downside was the staff at the breakfast area, specially the guy with specs - quite unfriendly, kind of disrespectful. Seems young and untrained.
Overall the hotel felt like a 3 star property. Definitely not a 5 star!

Great hotel in a good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to Central Mall. Handicapped lift in front of the hotel to bypass stairs. Nice fitness area and good rooftop pool.
