Blue Hill Resort in Haad Rin

the place is OK, nice views from the room and nice pool.
they have a bar with food which was nice.
didn't have hot water in the shower and also the supply closet for the cleaners was right at my door and they always took breaks there which make it noisy.

the place is really isolated, you'll have to rent a bike or take songthaew to get anywhere.

We booked a villa with a sea view and the view was amazing. The room itself was nice and homely, bed a little on the hard side however. The bathroom also didn't have a door, just a big open wall. We had a huge TV that offered netflix and youtube, which we used when it rained outside. Our AC didn't work at first, took technicians about hour or so to fix, making a little difference.
Room cleaning is very good, made our ridiculously messy room look brand new.
The pool is very nice, although it is quite small and higher than usual chlorine, enjoyed it all the same. There's a lot of bugs and mosquitoes too as it is built in between trees.

The staff were all really nice, not too good in speaking english however, except for the manager, but it wasn't a problem for us.
WiFi worked best by the pool or at reception, managed to get some bars near the door of our room.
The lift to get up and down the hill (to our room, the pool, reception, etc.) wasn't actually a proper lift and it was supppeeerrr slow, a long wait for a 5 mins walk if that was possible but they didn't have steps to some rooms (including ours). This was also because you couldn't really use it when someone else was using it, so you had to wait for them to get to their station/level even if it passed your station on the way.

The location isn't great, especially because it was very very hilly where it is, so walking to the nearest corner store/7/11 was a task as it was at least 1KM walk in 32C and tons of sunshine up and down steep roads. Taking a taxi anywhere is expensive, 100 baht per person even though the main area in Haad Rin was about 7mins drive away. I would recommend renting a motorbike (250baht/day) if you're comfortable riding it on steep roads. You can get there in about 20mins if you walk along the beach (which is flatter than the roads by far) but it is still tiring.
