We stayed for four days. The hotel is in a nationalpark so its 100tbh per person. We didn’t know that. We had the bungalow on the rocks, there was no AC and no wifi. The access to the bungalows is a little difficult, with backpack ok. The view is stunning and there is a privat beach amd a lot of dogs which we enjoyed very much. The food was nice. Scooter and kayak rent is on the property. Hotelstaff was kind.

0 out of 10. Would not recommend. If you are traveling with suitcases, do not go here. It’s takes 15 to 20 min to get to the room walking in between / under stones and a narrow path. Very unsteady and the room is very dusty. Bathroom very nasty. Great view of the rocks and the sea but very poor everything else. Very bad hospitality and staff are not friendly at all.

Million dollar view but poor service.
We payed almost 300$ for 4 nights but got angry comments about us cooling down our room for 1h with AC (which we paid for) food was mid and the lady at the reception couldn't smile at all.
At check out they tried to charge us 800b for the key for some reason which I denied paying for.
Would come back for the view and the nice bungalow but not for their customer service.
There's definitely some improvement to be made at their service.
Also a proper beach clean up would be good. Dog feces and rubbish in the beach area.

I like the owner and the staff. I had an air-con bungalow. It smelled a little moldy but leaving the pillows outside of the room and opening a window and turning on the fan fixed it. I much prefer this to a resort with central air that’s moldy. At least this was fixable.

The bathroom could use a drying rack, a taller door, and ventilation.

The pillows were too hard also. I don’t mind a firm bed but the pillows shouldn’t also be that firm.

I like the location except that the beach doesn’t have soft sand and the water had a funny smell.

Minus one star for the beach - which is the only reason to come.

I highly recommend Mai Pen Rai Resort! It’s quite far from town, but totally worth it. The stunning views, beautiful scenery, and peaceful atmosphere will make you forget the hustle and bustle of city life.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The resort also has a restaurant with a great view and delicious food. My room was very clean, and all the necessary facilities were provided.

I will definitely come back again!

Warning ⚠️ if you have bad ankles, bad hips, or mobility issues, this place is not for you. There are a lot of climbing steep and uneven paths and sometimes under boulders just to get to your room. It's also advertised all room have ac but that is false. But I do have to say the views are breathtaking!!! This place is great to get off grid because there is no wifi (only at reception/restaurant) and no tv just you and nature. Also know it is located on the other side of the island so access is not easy and will be expensive definitely would recommend renting a bike or a car if having a big family. Also recommend buying snacks and water before arrival because nearest store/7-11 is 30 minutes away. Only access to food and water is at on-site restaurant.

We had a lovely stay for 9 nights in Mai Pen Rai Bungalows. Employees were very helpful and nice. There was a nice restaurant with great food and nice view on the beach. I can imagine the beach could be much cleaner, a lot of rubish there (but not sure who is taking care of the beach). There were also a lot of dogs around, super friendly, however they pooped on beach, so it felt sometimes not nice being on the beach. However, the accomodation was cute, cozy. The terrace had a nice hammock and the sofa was very comfy. Depended on weather the waves can be sometimes too lound during night and there was a lot of lound insects. Overall, super nice stay in the middle of nature, without much people. The easiest option to move around island was renting the scooter in the accomodation for 250 baht per day.

I'll be honest I was really looking forward to this, but, than sadet is so far from anything, nothing close by, no phone reception, to get to the rooms you have to walk through a cave, and 4 more minutes of walking on the stones, no one helped us carry our bags, I got wet and cut my leg.
In day with the sun it's beautiful, but when you arrive at night it's terrifying, also had to cross it while there was a storm today and it's basically a death trap, the electricity stopped during the storm so no wifi, and no cell service.
If you want to rent a motorbike you have to give your real passport, no where in Thailand I've had to give my actual passport, a copy and some deposit but never the real one, and here the lady didn't agree for it and showed us all the other people passports, real trustworthy.
The room was leaking water from the ceiling during the rain.
Overall, I don't recommend this especially not for the first time in ko phangan.

We had a Wonderful stay here.
You have a marvelous view of the sea from your room. Some bungalows are better than others but it's really worth it.
Family bungalow are so nice and big ! But you don't have to be afraid of the strong noise of the waves.
The access is quite complicated if you don't have your own vehicle. We suggest you rent at the city center to be free to move after. There is a taxi at 250thb/pers who can bring you to the hotel. Be careful it is very deep to access the hotel and the restaurant.There is no hot water, but you are in the heart of mother nature ❤️
The restaurant is quite good and the staff will help you carry your bags.

This is a spectacular location and the bungalows are all built into the cliff face. It’s quite magical for the simplicity and sound of the waves every night. Bungalows are simple with no AC - rustic vibes and mosquito nets. I loved the chance to stay here and totally slow down with such a spectacular view. Accessibility to the bungalows could be tricky for some with steep uneven stairs and often it was also slippery so not for everyone. Unfortunately the entrance to the beach looks a bit past its prime with old run down buildings and a bit of garbage. Otherwise it was a beautiful stay!
