Plaa's Thansadet Resort in Hinkong

Absolutely NOT recommended.

When we arrived, the balcony door was completely broken and could not be closed. I honestly do not understand how a hotel can let guests stay in a room where the main balcony door is not functioning at all. The entrance door also had multiple gaps, allowing insects and animals to enter the room – which they did. We caught several cockroaches inside.

The bathroom had a very strong and unpleasant smell coming from the drain. In addition, the tap water was visibly brownish. Of course, we know you should not drink tap water in Thailand, but brown water even for showering and brushing teeth is unacceptable. The bathroom itself was clearly run-down compared to the rest of the room.

There are more than 150 stairs to reach the hotel with heavy luggage. This is not clearly mentioned in the description, and there is no assistance offered. The hotel is also very difficult to find – again, not transparently communicated.

Card payment was only possible with an extra 3% fee.

The worst part, however, was the behavior of the staff/owners. When we calmly addressed the issues, we were insulted, shouted at, and treated with extreme disrespect. We were explicitly told to leave the hotel immediately – without any refund. This behavior has been documented on video.

We booked 4 nights but had to leave after 2 because the situation was unacceptable. Until today, we have not received any refund.

The only positive thing was the view.
Everything else was extremely disappointing.
