Haad Khuad Resort in Hinkong

We initially booked for 3 nights but stayed only 1. Here’s why:
I spent a full month in Thailand and these people, or this person, were the most dishonest I came across.
First, they conceal very important information about the property prior to confirmation on booking platforms. For example, it's impossible to reach the "resort" on your own. You must take a jeep taxi or boat taxi, which costs a minimum of 100 THB per person per trip. And you will need to make those trips, because even though the beach is one of the most beautiful in Thailand, there’s absolutely nothing there. If you want a proper meal or just some snacks, you have to leave. All the restaurants on that beach, including the one from the “resort”, are shockingly bad, which I didn’t think was even possible in Thailand. There isn’t a single market, so daily trips out are unavoidable and impossible after 7pm.

Second, the "resort" is filthy. The rooms are dirty, the "resort" surrounds a lake full of garbage, and the so-called front desk guy is probably a homeless person they picked up, gave food and shelter to, and asked to sit around pretending he knows how to manage guests, which he clearly doesn’t. I worked in hospitality for many years, and this was appalling.
My advice: don’t go. They might try to paint over the filth and fool guests with the beauty of the beach, but don’t be misled. The expression “to cast pearls before swine” fits this place perfectly.
PS: They’ll probably reply calling us liars and saying they provide all the information, like they did on Booking, because they know we can’t reply and expose them further. But believe me, they are the dishonest ones, and if you go, you’ll see exactly what I mean.

The location of the resort is remote, and cannot be reached by normal transportation. Their listing is misleading as they offer free parking. Parking for what? My flip-flops. I called them to get some help. They referred me to a taxi service which is scam… there is no road only a 3 km dirt-sand road to the place. bottom line, after 3 hours of trying, I given up. Asked for a cancellation. Rejected. Waste of time and money as they do not refund…will stay away from Koh Phanghan !

You can’t arrive by yourself, you have to call them and pay 100thb each way per person to have a transport. We rented a motorbike at the pier and we had to park it 2kms away.
If you want to leave or go between 6pm and 8am, they will charge you an extracost.

For everything you want you have to pay. They are trying to get your money all the time. Don’t go here if you want to visit the island and spend your money on your own

Receptionist left us waiting for check-in, even though we arrived in the early Evening and was screaming at me because he said he's too stressed because of a lot of Bookings.
He should complain to his Boss, not to his Guests, because this is a very bad behaviour.
You can't do that in Hospitality.
The Rooms don't have a Fridge and not even a bottle of water is provided innthe Room for free, because they take advantage of their secluded location, where you can't just go to 7-eleven to buy water.
Prices for the Shuttle to the Motorbike Parking are also not true, as they wanted 200 Baht per Person each way, instead of 100, which is a Ripoff.
Very bad Service Level. I won't come here again and take my Money elsewhere.

The most expensive accommodation of our stay in Thailand and also the worst...

If you want to relax and stay by the beach for your entire stay, this could be a good option.

Otherwise, it isolates you from the rest of the island. To get to the accommodation, there's a 3km 4x4 track. It's impossible to take it by scooter, so it will cost 100 baht per person for the transfer. Each outing for a group of 4 people will cost 800 baht, and that's if you have a scooter at the end of the track. Otherwise, each outing will cost 2,000 baht for 4 people for the day. Of course, if you leave earlier than 9 a.m. or return later than 6 p.m., costs are higher. What's more, the driver drives very fast and recklessly, and isn't even friendly.

The local staff, on the other hand, are much nicer. The rooms are decent, despite a very hard bed and a shower that doesn't always have hot water.
We were also supposed to work remotely during our stay, but this was impossible, firstly because the wifi is of catastrophic quality, but also because there's no electricity in the hotel from 4pm to 6pm.

So I wouldn't recommend this accommodation at all.
