Kirbiyik Resort Hotel - Alanya in Kargicak

I spent 10 days at this hotel, and it was a complete disappointment. I was misled by the reviews, which are mostly written by local Turkish guests who are treated much better. They receive larger drinks at the bar, and their complaints are addressed immediately. The entire setup is designed for local guests, leaving international visitors neglected and frustrated.

Room Quality: The only positive was the room, which was nicely designed and cleaned almost daily. It was comfortable and well-maintained, but that’s where the good experience ends.

Staff and Service: The staff were rude, tired, and didn’t speak English. They seemed overworked and constantly rotated between different jobs throughout the day. In the morning, you’d see them cleaning tables and washing dishes, then serving in the restaurant, and by night, some of them would be cleaning the pool area. The pool bar staff were particularly unpleasant, constantly angry, and even shouting at customers. One bartender flirted shamelessly with female guests, including a member of my family, making her so uncomfortable that she refused to return to the bar. This same bartender would shout at male guests and refused simple requests like an extra glass or ice.

Dining Experience: The restaurant was an absolute mess. Long lines, especially for dinner, meant waiting up to 30 minutes for food. Once you finally got your plate, the food was cold, tasteless, and lacked any variety. Finding a table was another ordeal, as the restaurant was overcrowded. The whole place was severely understaffed, and I felt sorry for the overworked employees.

Facilities: The bar situation was terrible. Only one bar was open, and the lines were unbearably long. The drinks were laughably small, and when I asked at reception why the terrace bar wasn’t open, no one seemed to know. The alcohol served was of incredibly poor quality, which makes sense since the hotel owner also runs an alcohol production company—clearly, they are cutting corners.

Swimming Pool Area: The pool area was unsafe, with several guests, including a child, slipping and falling. One child even hit their head, posing a serious safety risk. The area is a death trap, and nothing was done to improve safety after these incidents.

Location: The location was fine—it was far from some attractions, but I was aware of that beforehand, so I won’t fault them for it.

Value for Money: Absolutely not worth what I paid. Despite staying for 10 days, the service and experience were nowhere near what I expected for the price.

Would I Recommend It?: Absolutely not. The hotel is too small to handle the number of guests, it’s severely understaffed, and the workers are treated terribly. The drinks are tiny, the alcohol is poor quality, and the food is inedible. The staff are rude, don’t speak English, and treat non-local guests poorly. On top of that, the swimming pool area is dangerous. This hotel should be avoided at all costs.

Can't recommend since this was my experience:

- strong smell in the room, in addition, the bathtub smells like wet cleaning rags
- there were stains everywhere, the room is completely inadequately cleaned
- I found foreign hair in the towels
- the waste bin for used toilet paper was dirty
- everything was completely worn out, dusted, both in the rooms and in the corridors
- the pool leaked into the basement, where the fitness center is

Further:

- I had to pay for wifi, it was advertised for the room, but in the end I had to pay for each device!!!
- the hotel beach is definitely not sandy and gradual, there are slippery stones along it, so it is very dangerous
- loud program every night till late hours and windows were old so you couldn't escape the noise by closing them

I could give 1,5 stars just because the food was good and service very friendly and helpfull. The rest gains no points. Hotel not safe for kids at all, every 30 minutes people (big and small) were sliding on the floor of the swimming pool, lobby and the restaurant. I also did it and till now have pain in my feet. Another minus point: bad English. was really not possible to comunicate with some of the employee, though there were nice. Another big point: if you don't speak Russian better you dont go, everything is in Russian, my kid did not want to go even to dance, as there was no English infomation, only in Turkish and Russian and from time to time one word in English. Animation for kids WAS COMPLETELY CLOSED!! I have chosen for the hotel because of the animation, to let me relax without kids, but I got VERY DISAPPOINTED. Another big minus: ALL IN! - this is a joke, and inside of the hotel are strange rules. I had information until 24.00 you can take a drink, but watch out!!! if they see that you have still a drink on the table they WILL NOT GIVE YOU ANYMORE A DRINK!! this is unbelievable how they treat people there! I have paid for all in and I could not take 2 drinks for me?? Anyway: drinks are not tasty. Coctails? when I arrived there were 5 to chose, after 1 day only 4!! is it really 5 stars hotel?? I DONT THINK SO THAT IN EUROPE we would give it a STAR! I sincerelly do not recommend if your priority are kids... and fun. Discoteque is miserable.. normally should be open till 2.am. We went once at 1 am and there was a big LOCK ON THE DOOR!! Not honest hotel and cheating in every aspect. I am gonna complain to my agency for sure.

Duration of Stay: 16 Days The staff at Kiryibik were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our 16-day stay. However, several aspects of our experience left room for improvement. Management appears to be prioritizing cost-saving measures, which impacted various aspects of our stay. Despite the cleanliness of the hotel, the distance from the airport was inconvenient, making transportation challenging. The rooms were recently renovated and maintained a high standard of cleanliness, which was appreciated. However, the lack of variety in the food offerings was disappointing. Daily repetition and a limited selection, left much to be desired. Additionally, snacks were limited to hamburgers and fries, and the promised afternoon coffee with cake was substituted with dry old cookies. While the hotel advertises itself as a 5-star establishment, it falls short of this standard. The standout feature was undoubtedly the friendly staff, but other aspects, such as child-friendliness, were lacking. The presence of glass tables in the lobby, limited play spaces for children detracted from the overall experience. The mini club is very small and was almost all the time closed. Furthermore, the swimming pools were disproportionately small considering the number of rooms, and the beach amenities were outdated, with defective parasols and a worn-out terrace. In terms of value for money, the hotel did not meet expectations. The high price did not align with the quality of service provided. We also encountered resistance when requesting alternative food options for our stay, indicating a lack of flexibility from management. The spa facilities were underwhelming, with poor quality and service. The hamam was frequently closed, and there was a persistent unpleasant odor throughout the spa area. In conclusion, while the friendly staff and cleanliness were highlights of our stay at Kirbiyik Hotel, several areas require improvement, particularly in terms of food variety, child-friendliness, and overall value for money. Management should consider revisiting their cost-saving measures to enhance the guest experience.
