Gure Termal Resort in Akcay

The room was spacious. If you like a very firm mattress, you will love the bed. There are no extra pillows or linens/blankets of any kind. There is no dish washer or cleaning products of any kind. We were told we had to buy our own in order to wash our dishes. There are no paper products of any kind such as paper towels or napkins. The wifi was awful. We switched rooms for the chance it might work better but it was hit or miss. They will tell you it only works in the lobby and only on cell phones, not laptops. I would not recommend this place.

The service was poor in terms of comfort. We're not the type of people who look for flaws or are dissatisfied, so I thought the negative reviews were exaggerated, but there's a high degree of truth to them. As someone who has been going to thermal hotels for 10 years, I know that people normally get overwhelmed by the heat in thermal hotels, but in this hotel, the corridors were cold because the heaters weren't working. Even the staff in the spa area were wearing coats. There's a temperature problem in the hotel. We were satisfied with the room cleaning. To be honest, we weren't very happy with the spa area. We chose it because the men's and women's hammam pools were separate, but the sauna was mixed-use. The toilet in the women's hammam section was closed. In other thermal hotels I've been to, it's usually difficult to get into the pool because of the heat; this one was at normal pool standards. I asked if they could increase the pool water temperature, and they said it comes that way from the source. So, if cold water can come from the hammam, then isn't the water in the hammam also from the source?
The technician who came to check the heaters in the room was helpful. The staff at the reception were also helpful. The kitchen area wasn't good. Breakfast was somewhat better, but they could make gözleme (Turkish flatbread). They could offer different fruit juices, or maybe some simit (Turkish bagel).

The food selection is very limited. There was turkey every day. They must have bought it in bulk and stockpiled it :)
The appetizers weren't bad. There weren't even any dessert options.
The kitchen is generally lacking.

There are no social activities at the hotel. A game area? Billiards? Live music? No afternoon tea.
Live music could be offered on certain days.
It's clear there are general management problems.
We left early and there were no issues with the refund, thank you.

In terms of location and room size, it's actually a nice hotel; hopefully, the shortcomings will be addressed.

We came to Ayvalık to the summer house, anyway, we became a member of the free holiday lottery page of this hotel through internet promotion, anyway, they called us and said, you won and come here. Anyway, we went, they tried to sell us a timeshare, and even though they invited us to dinner, even though we were there at the time they said, the food was over etc. In short, they have an answer for everything, they are after some kind of fraud, but what they are doing is rude and not in accordance with commercial ethics. We went to the waterfall in Altınoluk, there was someone advertising the hotel, they invited us to the hotel and we went for promotional purposes. One of the interns showed us the hotel and told us about the possibilities. The hotel seemed very big and beautiful. Afterwards, the trainee boy officially took us to a room like a persuasion room. There were managers and something like that. They tried to sell us a timeshare. Here's how much money, this amount of payment and these opportunities. They told us a lot. We were not convinced, then they reduced the price three times, then we said we will decide and left the hotel. Afterwards, we learned that there were troublesome situations, don't go, nine of the five things they told are lies.

I came for the hammam, I chose this place because it is good. The hotel is janjanli, sparkling. When you go down to the hammam section, someone who gives the wrong answer to the questions. When you say let's take a bath, the doors are greasy, the elevator is broken. There is no running hot water in the bath tub....I left before half an hour.
It was perfect for a lady to offer tea wholeheartedly in the hotel lobby.

We stayed for one night, the room was clean, but it needs maintenance, especially the edges of the tub are open, there is a dirty image, water leaks to the floor under the tub, the poolside is bad, there is no mattress on the sunbeds, it is very uncomfortable, they do not give towels in the pool. Before you even set foot in the hotel, a man appears under your nose to sell thermal timeshare while you are tired of the road, in short, the best of the worst😒
