Nil Hotel in Ayvalik

We checked out of the hotel today and arrived knowing it wasn't a perfect hotel, but I've never seen such a disgraceful establishment. We chose this hotel after reading reviews and following a few friends' recommendations, but it bears no resemblance to the reviews. Everyone seemed most pleased with the friendliness, but we never experienced anything like that. I think they treat us like they're treating us like royalty. Only the young lady at reception and the young waiter with glasses were friendly. They acted as if we hadn't paid for the hotel and were hosting us for free. As for the hotel itself, the rooms are very small; you can't even fit two people together, let alone open a suitcase. The beds are very small, of course, and we couldn't expect a large bed in such a tiny room. There's only one tiny closet to hang our clothes, and it's never enough. They provide a minibar, but it's never fully stocked. I've stayed in many cheap and expensive hotels, but they could have at least provided coffee and water. There's no shower cabin in the room; the toilet and shower are separated by a curtain. As for cleaning, we stayed at the hotel for four nights. No one came to clean. Even the trash wasn't collected from the room, and our towels weren't changed. I don't think they knew this was something that needed to be done unless I went and told them. Regarding food, we booked a buffet and half-board system at the hotel, which had us queue up and get our food straight from the factory. The main course was a single course, with soup and rice as an accompaniment. The appetizers were quite varied, but I highly doubt they were fresh every day. At breakfast, we followed the same principle of queueing up and creating a breakfast plate, but the problem started when we asked for more than one item, and they'd look down and say, "If there's still left, you can take it." In short, you're being humiliated for your money. The only good thing about the hotel was that it was a 5-6-minute drive from the center of Sarimli and a 1-minute walk from the sea. The sea was really beautiful and clean, and it can be a bit cold in windy weather, but you get used to it once you're there. A hotel employee on the beach helps you with sunbeds, but when you ask for food or drinks, it takes a very long time to arrive. There's a beach cafe on the beach. It's really cheap compared to both the beach cafe and the hotel prices, so we only ordered food from a friend at the hotel once, and then we ate and drank at the beach cafe every time we were at the beach. It's a hotel I won't choose again, and I won't pass by it, but I'd love to come back to Sarimarılı. I was amazed by the sea and the vendors in the market.

I would never recommend this hotel! First of all, everyone in the reviews was right; the food is terrible. I've attached a picture of the breakfast; sometimes they just serve bagels and pastries. There's no flavor at all; the same appetizers every day, only one main course :) The soup is like water. There's no tea after dinner. No other drinks either. Only water is available from the dispenser, and it's only on during mealtimes. At least they could have kept the water on all day; don't be so stingy! You have to pay for everything else yourself. I couldn't eat properly; I took out a loan to come here, and our money was wasted. It's like a joke; choose this hotel if you want to be humiliated for your money :) I asked for the room to be cleaned, but they didn't clean the toilet and sink. When I called, they said the cleaning lady had left :) I asked for bleach and cleaned it myself. The location is close to the sea, and the sea in Sarımsaklı is wonderful. The rooms are very small; you can't even open your suitcase. The pool seemed clean, but I didn't go in. There are two young people at the reception; they were very sweet and even though we arrived early, they let us into our room. Thank you for that. I don't understand how this old hotel hasn't improved itself despite all these reviews. For God's sake, at least change the chef! Anyone who says the food is good must be seriously starving and have never eaten a proper meal in their life. :)

When evaluated in terms of quality-price performance, we were not satisfied with this hotel where we stayed for 2 nights. Because 1100₺ per night for this hotel is an exorbitant figure! For this price, you can stay in much better places on the Sarmisakli coast. Rooms are old but AC works and there is hot water. The rooms are very small, you constantly bump into something when you turn inside. Cleanliness, ehh, is not bad. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean. The so-called open buffet breakfast is quite mediocre, there is only tea and milk for children as a beverage. For a place in the hometown of olives, even the olives were bad and the other breakfast items were of very poor quality. Dinner usually consists of fried foods and stale appetizers, it's like there is no meat in the meal served as the main course. In short, all the meals served at the hotel consist of the lowest quality and cheap products on the market. The food is so oily and of poor quality that it sits in your stomach afterwards. Maybe you can stay here in bed and breakfast concept instead of half board and for a more affordable price, because it's a waste of your money. You can have dinner at the restaurants in the center of Sarimsakli. Also, if you don't like the cold sea, I would say don't come to Sarimsakli. Even at the beginning of August, the sea was so cold that we could only swim in the sea for one day. But the sea is sparkling and the beach is.
