Cenedag has a great Location in center of Izmit where you can visit every where by walking around

Good basic hotel. Clean but small rooms, nice breakfast and friendly staff. Easy walk to the train station and lots of basic restaurants. Tough to find a place to park. I only gave it 4 stars for facilities because the shower vent did not have a cover.

The hotel is located in the city center of Izmit. It is a bit old and run down, so from this point of view it needs improvement. You have a small fridge and AC in the room. The receptionist was kind and changed the room to get a quiet one, with light working. There's paid parking in front of the hotel on the street, but you have a cheaper ottopark a few hundred meters away in a multi-storey parking buildings (180 TL / 24h). In the morning you have an open buffet breakfast, so this add a bit at the quality of the service, otherwise the price would have been a bit high.

Linens are very old and looks almost like rugs, smell was so bad, window cannot be locked ,so it was noisy all night, floor is dirty, i saw bedbugs

Izmit visit
The Lift is not from the ground floor to the last floor, it starts from the first floor and ends at the 5th floor. My room is on the 6th floor. The receptionist was helpful and invaluable. His name is 'Umat', and he carries all my bags up the stairs to my room.
I have disability and their help was crucial.
The hotel location is excellent, with many shops and restaurants in the area. No parking in front of the hotel, but there is an 'Otopark', a parking building 300 meters from the hotel. When driving Google Maps may lead you to driving Tram Rails, that's okay. No variety in breakfast, just plain Turkish breakfast.

Disappointed
The hotel is well located and I chose it according to past reviews that were overall okay. Although the staff speaks english, my room was not really nice.
The window did not seal/close properly so I could hear all sounds from the street. It was dirty, I pulled a bedside to put it closer to the bed and found a fake nail underneath it on the floor! as well as an used nose strip!! They were pee stains around the toilet seat and the room smell cigarette, although there are signs everywhere to not smoke! Not being a smoker was tough!

We chose this hotel based on the photos and the low price. In reality, it turned out that the hotel and the room were very old and dirty. There was a lot of smoking in the room before us, although the order was for non-smokers. The smell of cigarettes and alcohol in the elevator and room. We had to not use the shower and sleep in our clothes for fear of dirty bed linen

the service is friendly and high level

there's a guy who speaks English very good which is rare to see in Turkey especially.

it's in a great location and clean rooms.

Also if your room is on floor 3/4/5 you will see an awesome view of Izmıt,
