Reviews
We paid almost £400 for one night for a family room (room only, no food included) and it was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve ever had.
The hotel itself feels grim and very run down. While the room was large, it was extremely dated and clearly not cleaned to a high standard. For the price they charge, the condition of the room was completely unacceptable.
Our floor was mostly occupied by hen party groups, making it incredibly noisy. To make matters worse, our room was directly underneath an events room where very loud music continued past midnight. Even after the music stopped, furniture was being dragged around above us. This kept both me and my children awake for most of the night.
When we did eventually get some sleep, we were woken again by guests shouting and screaming in the corridors. By the morning we couldn’t wait to leave. The state of the hotel corridors summed up the whole experience – leftover takeaway containers and kebabs scattered along the hallways, which was disgusting.
When I raised these issues at checkout, the manager, Chris, showed very little interest. I was told it was apparently my fault for not complaining during the night. I was also told the hotel mainly caters for stag and hen parties, which raises the obvious question: why are they charging nearly £400 for a family room if that’s the case?
If the hotel is designed for party groups, they should at the very least separate them from families trying to sleep. With multiple floors in the building, this seems like basic common sense.
This hotel is massively overpriced, poorly managed, and not suitable for families. We were not the only guests complaining in the morning, which suggests these issues are well known. The staff seemed very used to complaints and didn’t appear particularly bothered about resolving them.
Save your money and stay somewhere reliable like Premier Inn or Travelodge instead.
The lady serving breakfast (didn’t catch her name) she had blonde hair and wore glasses, she was so lovely, nothing was too much trouble for her, she was warm and very friendly.
I would definitely stay here again.
Room huge but my only complaint is the shower in the whirlpool bath had no rail to hold onto and I had recently broke my wrist so couldn’t risk climbing into bath without support.
The staff were friendly and especially at breakfast they were super attentive.
Breakfast was delicious especially the link sausages but would have liked the offer of a fried egg though I’m sure if I had of asked they would have made me one.
staff were friendly and very knowledgeable of the area and helpful.
the rooms were good. the buffet breakfast which was included in the price was pretty good and felt welcomed too.
I Will definitely stay here again on my next trip
- Just about everything. 4* hotel? No. From cheap lino on the floor to beds that look comfy but were cheap. Not a luxurious hotel. Fine if you're going out boozing which this hotel is aimed at. Trying to contact this hotel is futile

I booked a table for a party of 12 at Sultan's Palace yesterday evening. We were greeted by a lovely lady from Netherley who proceeded to look after us with great charm and professional skill which together with the excellent food served up made for a most enjoyable evening.I was already a satisfied customer at this restaurant and I look forward to me next visit to Sultan's Palace whilst recommending my friends to do likewise.
