Dover Castle Hostel in London

Firstly happy to say that the Portugal Lady that was working on reception for my check in on Feb18th was so nice and told me everything I needed for my stay from arriving to leaving in great detail!
The 4 person room was smaller than the ones I've used before, but was not an issue at all! I'd have liked to of had a bed curtain, not just for myself but there was a couple of ladies in the room that I could tell were maybe a little bit uncomfortable with 2 guys being in the room...........But that is the nature of these places I guess!

The place itself is a little tired feeling inside and has the strange "whiff" walking around parts of it. The rest though I have to say that considering the amount of people that must go through it, I was impressed at the facilities and the condition there were in! Loved the communal area where people can cook and were cooking full meals and breakfasts too! I had a coffee before I checked out with 6 Ukrainians who were really nice!

The bed was comfy and clean and zero issues at all, especially 6ft4in tall.....The bed was easily long enough to take me! Plus it didn't squeak like other places I've used before!!

For the price of a 1 night stay in this location..........Literally nothing to moan about! Would I stay again.............Probably not as I prefer St Christophers Inn much better as there was zero issues at all and a lot more high tech with check inn and security!

The noise below from the pub until 1am I knew about and wasn't bothered by at all..........How ever it is for consideration for anyone that gets disturbed easily and the mornings too are very noisy with people using the bathrooms that are literally outside some doors!

Still though...................Worth a stay for those on a budget and less than a minuet away from the tube station!

The transportation is convenient. I stayed here for a few days and went to the Cotswolds. I stayed here again after returning. I liked that there was a kitchen and a common room. I could cook food that suits my taste and chat with people from other countries. The network speed is also good during off-peak hours.

It is close to the subway and bus station. The overall facilities are a bit old. There is a common lounge for chatting and a clean kitchen for cooking, which has a microwave + kettle + induction cooker.

Staff were friendly. Room was incredibly hot though, it made for a restless sleep. A large fan was provided but its no good for ones sleeping on the upper bunks which I was. Otherwise, location is great.
