We were greeted at the door, such a lovely welcome, shown around and to our room. We had some lovely food in the beautiful sitting room with an open fire.
The room was gorgeous with a bath and seperate shower. Topped off in the wonderful breakfast room. All the staff were lovely and so helpful, we couldn't fault it......thank you xxx

First time staying here- usually stay in city centre. Such a lovely place to stay. Relaxed atmosphere and professional staff. Larger than expected room with large bed. Beautiful public areas and great breakfast reasonably priced.

It is always a pleasure staying at this hotel. The staff are so friendly and professional, the rooms are spotless and the beds are very comfortable. It has a lovely atmosphere too which is very relaxing.

Very warm welcome to a beautiful hotel. My room, number 11 was gorgeous. It was spacious, clean and cosy with a roll top bath and large shower. There was an open fire crackling in the lounge and a delicious breakfast before leaving so very happy with my wonderful stay!

Dropped in for a drink after going for a walk nearby. Bar staff were friendly and helpful, added a slice of grapefruit to my wife's drink when she asked which was nice. A little slow on the service but would definitely go back.

Having been a customer at this pub for many years, I was extremely dissatisfied with the service we received on Christmas Eve. Myself and my family had booked a table 2 months ago and travelled an hour out of our way to the pub. As you can imagine we were very much looking forward to our Christmas Eve meal. When we arrived at the pub we waited 10 mins before being approached by anyone. I informed a staff member we had a booking and it was clear from that moment something was wrong. They told us there was a fault online with letting people book as the kitchen had closed at 6.30. Then the man said the chef had gone home...then suddenly he was going and speaking to the chef?! Then the story was the extractor fan had broken. When I challenged the man he said he has tried to call me several times (which he hadn’t) and had no proof of...unsurprisingly. He then went on to say he has left a voicemail and further that he had actually spoken to me to cancel the booking. His attitude and handling of the whole situation was appalling with no apology at all. To say he is in a management role is alarming. I am saddened to say I will not be visiting here again as the whole experience was laughable!

Only good thing is the music. But when you have been waiting at the bar and you get served after the people stood behind you because they are friends of the bar staff then no poor bar awareness and poor customer experience.

Expensive but it's nice. Had a roast which was sub par - roast potatoes were pale as, gravy was bisto, meat overcooked...

Nice selection of food, place got somewhat noisy in the evening, probably fine for a pub but less good to eat in.

Amazing gluten free selection and beautiful decor. The description 'chain pub' is deceiving because the service is very personalized and ingredients very high quality. Had the gluten free stake and ale pie and bubble and squeak. Tasty, wonderful ambiance and they dont break the bank.

Booked a table for 4 for the festive menu well in advance. On the day there was no TURKEY!!. Was offered duck or chicken. Average food. Cheeky charging for parking but that does get reimbursed. Veg wasnt cooked - so very hard. Disappointed.

I love the environment. Food is really nice. Sometimes they have live music and good deals. Sunday roast is delicious. Don't miss puddings selection there
