Didsbury House Hotel in Manchester

Having been a customer at this pub for many years, I was extremely dissatisfied with the service we received on Christmas Eve. Myself and my family had booked a table 2 months ago and travelled an hour out of our way to the pub. As you can imagine we were very much looking forward to our Christmas Eve meal. When we arrived at the pub we waited 10 mins before being approached by anyone. I informed a staff member we had a booking and it was clear from that moment something was wrong. They told us there was a fault online with letting people book as the kitchen had closed at 6.30. Then the man said the chef had gone home...then suddenly he was going and speaking to the chef?! Then the story was the extractor fan had broken. When I challenged the man he said he has tried to call me several times (which he hadn’t) and had no proof of...unsurprisingly. He then went on to say he has left a voicemail and further that he had actually spoken to me to cancel the booking. His attitude and handling of the whole situation was appalling with no apology at all. To say he is in a management role is alarming. I am saddened to say I will not be visiting here again as the whole experience was laughable!

Only good thing is the music. But when you have been waiting at the bar and you get served after the people stood behind you because they are friends of the bar staff then no poor bar awareness and poor customer experience.
