Objectively a nice hotel but it’s £400 a night. And for rooms this size and zero facilities, you don’t pay that in many cities anywhere in the world. Pluses - parking with car charging. Not easy in Oxford - genuinely charming and attentive staff - very comfortable bed - full of character. Great art etc - the library is a lovely place to work or read But there are a few things that I wouldn’t expect at this price: - our sink was blocked and leaking over the floor. Not great in a tiny bathroom but was repaired that evening - some of the items in the room weren’t in perfect condition (the WiFi password sign next to the bed was crumpled for example). Not petty IMO because first rule of a hotel room is that there should be zero sign that you aren’t the first occupant. Housekeeping should get that right. So painful value for money, but not obvious where offers better. But if you’re charging this price you need to be 110% perfect.

It was a wonderful hotel, with everything I was satisfied with. Being an older building, it did have some shortcomings in terms of soundproofing, but it was a hotel I would return to again.

It is recommended to avoid thunderbolts. It is hard to imagine how such a hotel can be rated five stars.
Public environment: The hotel is very small, there is almost no front desk, the corridor is a narrow corridor of only one meter wide, and there is no elevator.
Room: We booked an ordinary room and a suite. They are very small. The ordinary room is so small that there is no place to put the luggage.
Service: The front desk service we encountered was very poor and neglected people. We were two adults and two children. We were told that the law does not allow more than three people in a room. We were asked to leave one adult and book a room in another hotel (because the hotel was full that night), and they did not agree to my check-out, and did not give any other solutions. As a result, my husband had to go to another hotel on the first night, which was really incredible.
However, the service of the restaurant department was still good
In summary: It is not worth the price. There must be better choices in Oxford

The hotel has very convenient parking, which is the first choice for self-driving tours. There is a restaurant downstairs, which is also the check-in place. At first, I wondered if I had gone to the wrong place, but when I got to the room, I found it was a different world. The hotel is very warm, with a welcome card and free fresh milk. Every decoration in the room is full of British style, even the paintings on the wall are full of stories about Oxford, and the toiletries are also very exquisite. I love the library downstairs, which feels like a university campus. The hotel is also in a good location, very close to attractions such as the Bridge of Sighs!

It is a very historical house. There is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow. The decoration inside is small, exquisite and clean. The front desk clerk will help carry the luggage to the room and take the guests to visit and explain. The newly decorated room is very warm and comfortable. There is also a thoughtful handwritten welcome card, which makes people feel like they are always home.

The front desk collects a deposit, and the water and milk in the room are free. The front desk guy helps deliver luggage to the room. The restaurant on the first floor has a real fireplace, the fire is burning🔥, it is warm and has a full sense of scope. There is also a library on the second floor

Wonderful food and absolutely exceptional service that was both very attentive and very generous. My family had an absolutely wonderful birthday dinner under special circumstances. We cannot praise all the staff at the Old Parsonage enough. Thank you very much.

Sat in the bar area and ordered a hot chocolate. It was heavily watered down. There was a horrible smell of sewage coming through the bar area as well.

I have eaten at Browns four times in the last two months and remain amazed at the consistent brilliance of their offering. The ambience is welcoming and buzzy, the service unfailingly courteous charming, prompt and professional, the food is excellent, the drinks first rate and the prices are fair. I really can't fault this great place, indeed I'm dining there again next weekend!

I got a 3 course menu as part of a big party. It wasn't bad, but nothing special. Ingredients didn't have much flavor and portions were quite small. Service was helpful, but could have been a bit faster. Don't think I'll be going back.
