Hampton Inn Los Angeles Int'l Airport/Hawthorne in Los Angeles

When we checked in they were painting the lobby so it was a bit smelly

Maybe I came back early the second night and didn't meet the homeless man again

Close to airport and easy to buy anything nearby.

The room is big, the space is high, and the parking is free, which is worth the price!

Hotel was very nice, clean and well updated. Staff was additionally friendly throughout my stay, including when I had to call a few times prior to staying due to some traveling changes. Parking is free, connected, all gated and perceived to be very secure. The hotel's location is the biggest downside, as it's not in the best part of town, but there are some decent food / grocery stores nearby, which is nice. It's very close to the airport / rental car spots, and all things considered, I'll still stay again for future travels.

I love the room. Clean and comfortable. Staff does their job, not rude but not friendly or welcoming. Totally different from my last experiences there where they were so very nice. Parking free, but garage is difficult to get around in. Big fan of Hamptons, but this isn't a favorite.

The hotel is very well kept and the rooms are clean and comfortable. This rating would have been a 5 star until we returned this evening at 11:15pm from a chilling day in the rain at Disneyland. We returned to the hotel with hopes of grabbing a hot chocolate to warm up. The sole employee Grace was on the phone taking a reservation so we sat and politely waited 10 minutes or so until she got off the phone. As she was finishing the reservation I walked up to the counter to ask for a couple packets of hot chocolate as several people walked in with their luggage to check in. She hung up the phone and I asked if I could get a couple packets, and she said she was the only person on duty and then told me I had to wait as she had people to check in! I had to walk away as I was so mad as she was rude and had an attitude as if I was bothering her! My money is green and we had already been here two days and she dismissed us as if we were one of the local homeless coming in for handouts?? We travel the world over and in fact are in route from Chicago to Fiji, and I have NEVER been treated as rudely as I was by Grace! Perhaps she should not be in the customer service industry with such a horrible demeanor! I Will be talking to management tomorrow and if need be a letter to corporate will be sent! If you dont want to do your job - let someone who can, do so!!!! Every other person here was wonderful and extremely helpful. Perhaps Grace is better suited as a tax collector, meter reader, dog catcher, or garbage collection as interaction with the public is not her strong suit?
