Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs

My family of four stayed at Korakia Pensione last Thursday, booking two rooms. Based on the glowing reviews and social media hype, we arrived with high expectations. While the hotel’s physical charm is undeniable, our experience was marred by a significant lack of professional service. ​The Pros: Design and Atmosphere The Moroccan-inspired architecture and decor are truly beautiful and meticulously detailed. The rooms are unique and full of character. Although the facilities and air conditioning units are quite dated, the aesthetic appeal almost makes up for the age of the property. ​The Cons: Service and Hospitality Unfortunately, the service level was abysmal. The staff appeared completely untrained in hospitality etiquette. We were met with zero smiles, a lack of eye contact, and an overall impatient attitude. Every interaction felt dismissive, with most of our requests met with a cold "no." ​The Incident: No Hot Water in Winter The breaking point occurred at night when we discovered our room had no hot water. During the coldest part of February in Palm Springs, this was unacceptable. It took a long and difficult coordination process before the staff reluctantly agreed to change our room. ​What was most disappointing was the complete lack of empathy. After the room swap, not a single staff member offered an apology, showed concern for our inconvenience, or followed up to see if we were okay. They acted as if nothing had happened. ​Final Verdict The service at Korakia is as cold as the desert winter—a sharp contrast to the beautiful architecture and the luxury-level price tag we paid. For a hotel that positions itself as a premium destination, the lack of basic manners and professional standards is shocking. We left feeling unwelcome and undervalued. We will not be returning, nor will we recommend this hotel to our friends
