The staff was incredibly kind and this is no fault of theirs, but it needs to be said: This hostel is completely inaccessible for physically disabled people.
There are three flights of stairs with no elevator, and you would think there’s some level of accessibility for those with mobility aids given that it says the hostel is “wheelchair accessible (with limitations)” but there are ONLY limitations. Zero accessibility. There aren’t even ramps for the front door, you’re required to go up more stairs to get into the building.
It’s an impossible stay if you rely on a mobility aid and/or cannot do long treks up stairs. Don’t stay here if you are disabled or have any physical limitations that would make this as awful and painful for you as it was for me.

For some reason (likely my fault) I never saw the parking gate code before I got there. Front desk got me in quick so not a problem. Otherwise everything was great.

First time staying in a Hostel, and 100% sure that this will be hard to top at another one. I was met by Juliet whose voice I recognized over the phone when i called to ask probably too many questions, in which she answered confidentially and ultimately gave my brain the green light to stay in a hostel. I work for a major airline and I have never stayed at the nicest hotels and have felt this comfortable. I will definitely come back and will be recommending all my co workers and friends going to the Sacramento area . Thank You guys for the wonderful stay.

Staff was great and the historic building was really nice. I do think they need to clean and maintain things better. Another hostel I stayed at apart of the HI system would clean their bathrooms twice a day. To be fair the other hostel probably had more traffic but I don't think they cleaned the bathrooms in this hostel once the entire time I was staying, for 3-4 days.

Great downtown stay
Attending a concert at Golden 1 Center and picked this as it was within walking distance and looked pretty cool compared to a standard hotel. The entire property is well preserved with all the Victorian charm of years ago. Great kitchen set up and dining area. Room was comfortable but next time I will bring my own pillow as they were typical hotel style. The staff was also super friendly, will be back

Staying in a large Victorian house is a rare opportunity for a traveler, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the architecture of this era.

The food was great. The service was better. I had the Potato soup which was good but the portion size, for the 8 bucks, could have been better. The Tuna Poké was great and was tremendously seasoned. All in all it was good but was hoping for more. Special shout out to Ethan the server for going above and beyond his job.

We stopped by Grange for a leisurely breakfast and weren’t disappointed. I had the Huevos Rancheros. Cindy had French Toast, a scrambled egg and a link of Chicken Apple Sausage. We were both quite happy with our meals. The waiter was friendly and a lot of help to Cindy in deciding what to have.

This is a nice higher end restaurant that is not too formal in its atmosphere but more formal than simply casual. It has large windows to see outside. The spacing between tables is decent. The food is a variety - American, Italian & other. We are vegetarian & do not eat eggs & we had a wonderful meal that included a chef created item. We had non alcoholic spritzers, flatbread, heirloom tomato, risotto & the chef choice vegetarian entree (this item is not on the menu). Our waiter was a little formal & had a lot of confidence that we would like the food, & we took the chance. A good place for a formal, filling, creative, healthy higher end meal in Sacramento.
