Hotel Med Park, an Ascend Collection Hotel in Sacramento

We stayed here for Aftershock 2025. Outward appearance is clean, well kept up, apparently bathrooms were recently redone and it looked nice in room 404. First night there I was showering when I noticed the water wasn't draining; there's no barrier between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so I checked, and sure enough the water was running straight across the bathroom floor and out into the carpeted room. I used all the towels available to push it back and block it in the shower.

Next morning I told the manager what happened, manager was very nice, patient and polite. He came up and cleared the drain in the shower right then.

Side note, the parking garage is extremely tiny but the manager was very accommodating!

Back to the second day... Manager said housekeeping was washing all towels so there weren't any available until later in the day. I made the mistake of leaving the do not disturb sign on the door while we went and rocked all day (there were 4 of us), so when we got back there still weren't any towels. Went down to the lobby and asked the manager for towels, he went with me to the laundry room and grabbed the 3 available towels they had (coming from a housekeeping job for a resort, these housekeepers seem to have a hard time keeping up with the rooms and laundry; for a hotel with approximately 30 rooms there should be plenty of towels even if all 30 rooms had been cleared in one day, but it's not my hotel and I don't know their in's and out's). So again, the manager was very accommodating!!

Other than those mishaps, there were only a couple things to note. When we checked in there was some dry trash in the cabinet where the fridge is. No big deal, it happens with housekeeping, I've done it too. Under the TV in the living room area of the room was very dusty, I'm not sure how housekeeping does their deep cleans, but that was definitely missed. Also there was no hand soap in the bathroom. No big deal, again, I've done it at my job too, I just broke apart my own bar soap that I brought with us and we used that for hand washing.

All in all I think the manager is great, and I only saw 2 housekeepers, so if there are only 2 of them, they're really doing well for the workload! If we ever go back to Sacramento, I'd stay here again!

The room was very clean & nice. The breakfast had a very nice selection. It was much better than I thought it would be.
