The Westin San Diego Bayview in San Diego

The experience was extremely poor, a clear case of consumer fraud. The suite we booked in advance was unavailable, and the hotel offered no explanation whatsoever, trying to fob us off with any other room. Even after we discovered this, they never apologized for their mistake. The price difference between the two room types was over 2000 USD per night, and the hotel offered a maximum compensation of $25 USD per day. Such disgusting management is truly speechless.

This is not a 4 star hotel! It’s a hotel that is struggling to keep up with quality and service.
Despite saying rooms have been refurbished, they still need work! Carpets are frayed, comforter had make up on from previous occupant, bathroom door has dirty brown marks on it, shower door did not work, the faucets drain water all over sink area. A tired hotel that is in need of love!
The air conditioning works but it need to be cranked up, as the comforter is so hot, you can’t get a break from the heat overnight! We asked for a lighter comforter or two singles to allow our limbs to be out of the bed to be able to cool, to which two extra large comforters were placed on the bed instead! Insane!
As for the bar area, wine poured to the rim into small glasses and no larger wine glasses were in stock! Bar snacks were obviously from the freezer and heated up. The flat bread dough was still uncooked. Yet for a couple of drinks and two appetizers, we were charged $92.
The hotel is a poor representation of Westins, and we are members of Marriott BonVoy and this has completely let the group down.
If you are here for one night as a flight crew stopover or attending a conference (of which there are many such people seen), maybe it’s not a problem but we are here to celebrate a special occasion and this was a total let down! We shouldn’t have to ask for repairs/clean water glasses etc. The US usually has high standards for hotels, not at this one. Sorry!
