The hotel near train and Metro subway less than 15 minutes walk. It was convenient for me. Room size was average. Decoration looked nice and well maintained. Front desk check in was efficient. But they did not want to deal issue. I requested the bedroom need to be cleaned. The front desk said, every other day. Did not clean, ask again, they said by request. Simply this hotel did not want to do house keeping. I stayed four nights, and asked three time finally got one housekeeping cleaned the bathroom and gave new towels! Noise was a big problem in this hotel. Unfortunately we encounter bad neighbors who did not like to sleep and party all night. Screaming and yelling and throwing stuffs to the wall and running and talking loud inside and outside the room. I called the front desk 2:55am. Someone came to ask them keep it down. After the employee left they're continue making noise until 4::30am. The wall like a thin paper you can hear everything from the next neighbor. When people close the door, it aouund like they slammed the door very noise. I can felt my room was shaking when my next door neighbor did that. OMG they need to improve the noise and housekeeping schedule. If this hotel does not want to do housekeeping. Honestly to the customer, leave a toilet brush, extra towels and trash bag in the room. I will not recommend this hotel.

The worst experience at a hotel I have ever had! The thermostats are a joke! Had to move rooms since our first room the thermostat wasn’t even working, then the new room, our first night the thermostat was stuck on 60 and we froze all night! Our last morning there we woke up to water pouring out of the toilet and coming up from the shower drain and it flooded our room! items of ours wet and my husband stepped in the gross water. The front desk guy Axel, did the best he could as well as the maintenance guy, who tried sucking up the water and apologized over and over . After an hour we were finally told they would move us to the room next door for the bathroom since we had no access to a restroom. After 30 more minutes we finally were able to use the restroom next door and at this time the toilet and shower drain began flooding the room again now going out to the hall and almost to the room next door. The manager, Robert, said we would be given a full refund and it’s been 2 days and after multiple emails from myself and ********** trying to reach out multiple times, no one has responded. Robert’s response was thermostats get stuck and things happen. Empathy for the entire situation and a response from this crappy hotel would be nice! Never again will we return here or recommend this place to anyone!

Staff was great BUT Property definitely not what the pictures show. No amenities AT ALL. Be ready to pay 42 dlrs a night in parking, no breakfast options, you even have to pay for water since they dont provide you with any. They don't do room service so good luck with the 2 towels you get and emptying out your own trash cans.
At this point its just a fancier Motel rather than a hotel.

The Bristol is centrally located in the downtown area and easy access to the convention center and pier. The lobby has a nice presentation. The staff were helpful and efficient for check-in. However, there were some glitches I could not overlook. First, there were a number of long hairs (not mine) on a decorative pilllow on the bed. I asked for the pillow to be taken out of the room and the pillow cases for the bed to be replaced since they were all "touching". I was told housekeeping would be arriving shortly. They didn't come.I slept without the pillows as I wasn't sure of their cleanliness. Secondly, the door to the bathroom was a pocket door, and I could not get it to close. Luckily, I was traveling by myself, so closing the door was not needed. But, for the next set of guests, it may be! I was also very surprised that there was no security to get to the guest floors. Anyone could easily have walked in the hotel at night, walked straight to an elevator, and traversed any of the floors, as key cards were not needed to access the floors. Therefore, I sadly cannot recommend the Bristol based on the cleanliness and security factors. I wish I could because the rooms were nicely appointed and very cute motif. And the location, as I mentioned, was excellent.

It feels like it's been too long. Parking is $42 per day. No water.

[Pros]
It's close to many of San Diego's major tourist attractions. It's also close to train stations (trolley and Amtrak) and bus stops, so transportation is easy. A supermarket (Ralphs) is also within a 5-minute walk, and since it's cheaper than other options, I recommend buying water and other items there.
The hotel lobby wasn't that great, but the rooms were quite stylish and better than expected.
There's a shared microwave in the lobby.

[Not so good]
The hotel was unmanned at check-in, and several guests had trouble figuring out how to check in... This may have depended on the time of day, but I would like to see improvements, such as installing a more clearly defined call bell in the lobby.

Great location; right in the middle of everything. Lots of restaurants nearby, as well as the bay. All the staff were very nice and quite pleasant.

Room was clean, quiet. The mattress was actually very very comfortable, I slept like a baby in that bed haha. Great price, great friendly staff 👍 recommended!

Very misleading picture on the website. Room was small and outdated. I would never stay here again for the price I paid

Great salad bar and the meats are delicious. The waiters come around in the perfect amount of time and all the staff are friendly and professional. The service was also good.

Great selection of side dishes. We really enjoyed the white sangria. The best was definitely the grilled meats. Delicious!

For their lunch menu & pricing, the quality of food & service is great! I'm going back. The quality of food is great & the value for the price is perfect. Take a hot date cuz this place has that ambiance!

The food was great, although it took time for meats to make their way to your table. The sides were not freshly served but had nice taste and flavor

Very calm mall, which is good! Nice atmosphere, no random people walking around. Good stores too. The bathrooms are very clean and so are the food courts. Love the decorations too, love the huge chess game. The levels are a bit confusing, but they do have maps all around (:

I love this place! Every time I go back to San Diego I visit Horton Plaza. It's has great shopping, good food and lots of fun things to do! Plus you are in downtown San Diego which is awesome in its own right. You can park and spend hours there.. I'm not sure if it's still there but there is an amazing noodle spot at Horton Plaza. Highly recommend!

This Westfield Horton Plaza s the only shopping center anywhere near downtown San Diego. The only reason this Plaza gets four stars instead of two is because of the Macy's. I spend many days in San Diego and this Macy's is the only place to shop for whatever you need while downtown....yes I do forget pack some things and need to do a quick shopping run from time to time. If you are in town for tourism or business the Macy's is your shopping savior.

The plaza itself is very nicely remolded and is adjacent to the Westin and across the street from the U.S. Grant Hotel. The plaza also has a movie theater.

Very nice hotel with an attentive staff. Room was great, heated outdoor pool and hot tub were wonderful after a nice day of sit-seeing. The restaurant, however, left a lot to be desired. It does not meet the quality of the hotel itself. Food was overpriced and less than tasty. Sirloin steak was mostly fat, veggies were crawling in spice and salt, but soup as actually a bit better than what one can heat up from a can. My advice: stay in this lovely, well situated, comfortable hotel, but eat in any of the excellent nearby restaurants and don't eat at the hotel.
16.12.2017 Cheryl
Horton Plaza is the heart of Downtown San Diego with some stores and restaurants. This is one less busy shopping mall with a nearby hotels in the area. Now with the Horton Plaza Park, it enhances and beautifies the area. It is great for locals and tourists for shopping, entertainment, and fun. It has been troublesome in the mall and park with the homeless.
