Found Hotel San Diego in San Diego

Location was fantastic, just a short walk to countless restaurants. The room itself was super uncomfortable. The bed was okay, but other than that the room was filthy and smelled awful. It could be that apparently one of the people had been living there for a couple months. His stuff was everywhere, couldn't get to the fridge, dishes in the sink, the floors were nasty, trashes completely full. The room must not have had great circulation because it was hard to breath and had a very distinct nauseating smell. It seemed only the beds got made fresh but they never asked the person that had been staying to clean up his mess before new people came in. I had to keep my bag on my bed because I couldn't access the storage under the bed. It would have also been nice to have a hand towel with the other towel on arrival. I don't completely blame the place for all of that, but that guest needs to clean up after himself. Service was great when I could reach somebody, but the only time I saw someone working was when I checked in. Other than that, their main phone line doesn't seem to work. Gabrielle was great over email, a little delayed to respond, but very helpful and she did refund me for the nights I couldn't stay due to a missed flight. Overall I might have just paid extra to stay somewhere a little nicer.

I booked this hotel through a Southwest Airlines package deal. When I got to the hotel at 5:15 on Friday 2/18/22, I found out why they don't have a desk clerk on site after dark. It is apparent that this place used to be a "half way house" for alcoholics and ex-cons as they try to get their lives together. I'm pretty sure a couple of the people that I talked to as I was trying to find my "room" are permanent residents at the "hotel". Although the website says it is in the Little Italy area, the actual location is in a really nasty part of the neighborhood. The "hotel" is in the flight path to the airport, and gets a lot of noise from the Hwy 5 freeway and a trolley line. No hotel parking, you have to park on the streets next to homeless tents. I reviewed the confirmation email that Found sent via Southwest when I booked, and Found didn't say anything about sharing a tiny "room" and bunk bed until they texted me when I checked in. And so I had to try to find another hotel on a Friday night of a long holiday weekend in San Diego. Some other guests that I talked to while trying to check in said they had private rooms to themselves but they had to share bathroom and showers. I phoned the only number for the hotel, left a message I was cancelling. I hope that Found "hotel" will give me a refund, because there was no advance notice about the "room" they were going to put me in. I am not going to spend a night sharing a bunk bed and a bathroom with a stranger.

DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could give them zero stars I would. We got to our room around midnight the day we flew in. After working all day then flying in late, we expected to come to a nice hotel and relax and pass out. The entire place had a weird smell to it. Our sheets were dirty! There was someone’s shirt inside the bathroom in a ball. No shampoo or conditioner. The window was broken in the bathroom so we could not shut it. For it being my first time in San Diego this hotel was terrible! The staff was quiet and rarely in the front. The day before we left we finally saw someone who apologized for the dirty room and said they were selling the hotel and the cleaning crew kept calling out. They still should have made sure the room was cleaned before guests checked in. Would not recommend anyone stay here till they are under new owners and management.

To be fair: Front desk woman was awesome and understanding. And she gave me a partial refund.

But this place is trash. I have no idea how it has 3.5 stars. Must have been a recent change in ownership.

- Bathroom was incredibly dirty. Unusable.
- Mattress left me in pain
- Blinds and nightstand were broken
- No hand soap in room
- Missing sheets in the set, and dirty sheets
- Manager literally told me I shouldn’t check in between 4-6pm because the staff would be ‘taking a break then’

I originally had a three night reservation. Left after the first. Do not stay here unless you have no choice.

Paid 1500 dollars to stay 4 nights. They don't provide refunds and once you pay online your stuck. They take out the payment in one single payment without any notice. No refrigerator, no stove or microwaves. And parking is on the street not provided by the Hotel. The location is rundown. The service is helpful the only great part about this hotel, but I left 3 days early because I could not stay any longer. The rooms feel like prisons and the location is near the freeway so you hear motorcycles and semi trucks all night long. Avoid, better hotels all across San Diego for cheaper prices

Room wasn't ready for us, first room we got was dirty and outdated. The view was a brick wall. You could see through the windows. There were spiders. We asked to be moved to another room. That room was better, but still not the greatest. The girls that worked there were awesome. The history of the building was nice.
