I was extremely disappointed with the Marriott in San Jose. I had planned to stay for two weeks, but I checked out after only three days.

The overall facilities were mediocre, and the worst part was the service.

Saturday, August 9, 2025 arrived at San Jose Marriott for the San Jose Jazz Festival around 9 am from Sacramento, traffic was easy. Early check-in wasn't until 1 pm. Finally got a room around 2 pm after five hour wait! Nice room though. Two queen size beds (I think). More than enough for little ole me though. I had requested a microwave in the room when I made my reservation in June. No microwave! There was a tiny microwave in the hallway though. Not sure if it worked. It was kind of raggedy looking. Also ice machine on floor didn't work. I went to another floor to get ice. Another small disappointment for me was there was no bathtub. Just a shower. I was looking forward to soaking my body after walking around the jazz festival. But all in all, the room was nice. Nice big screen television. Air conditioning worked too good. I turned it off because the room was too cold for me. I had nice view of jazz festival entrance from the 12th floor. Another plus, great band played in the lobby on Saturday night.

My grandson and I stayed there for a convention. For the most part it was ok, but the food was outrageous. The prices were horrible!!!!! Considering there are NO local places to eat your stuck with the high prices. There's no place to just relax in your room there's a bed and a desk chair. There was no fridge no microwave, no free breakfast. Wow it wasn't anything like I expected.

We are rarely disappointed with our Marriott stays and this stay was no different! Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The location was perfect as we flew in for our son’s game against San Jose State. We walked to yoga one morning. Walked to the stadium on game day.

Having stayed in many Marriott’s across the country (196 nights and counting), I can say this was one of my best stays. The staff at check-in welcomed me warmly and provided me with a very comfortable room. On top of that, they gave me a nice welcome gift consisting of wine and snacks. Thanks again for the great stay. I will be back soon!

The staff was very nice and friendly. However there was an electrical fire while we were there. Biggest inconvenience while on vacation and super stressful. There were 6 elevators and only one worked while they tried to fix the issue. I was on the 12th floor and it smelled like burnt rubber. Since the lights went out the kitchen didn’t work. The biggest concern was the people in the upper levels 20 and higher didn’t even hear the alarm. That would be the biggest tragedy if that isn’t fixed. Overall wasn’t impressed with this Marriott in San Jose.

The service at Marriott Hotels in China is very good, but it is different abroad. There is not even a bottle of water, and the room was not cleaned even after staying for three days. The experience is really terrible!

$53.00 to self park. No valet. No help to get to room. Room dim. One bulb burned out. Poor towel quality and amount. Trolly noise can preclude a good night’s sleep. Missed a make-up mirror.No food available in hotel when we arrived exhausted. View was over a roof top……etc.

Have stayed in great Marriotts and some not so great. For a Marriott of this class, it’s the poorest I’ve ever stayed in.

We went here for a company lunch and had a family style set up. All of the food, including the steak, salmon, mushroom risotto, and delicious salads were presented well and tasted very good. The only one that was slightly dried out was the chicken. They had a chocolate dessert that was also very good. I would go here again.

Michael Mina should be more careful of restaurants that he puts his name on. Food was mediocre at best. Salad greens slimy. Chicken over cooked. Client lunch that turned into a embarrassment for my restaurant choice.

This must be the best steakhouse in San Jose. The steak is consistently flavorful and tasty. The service is on the par with the food - simply great. The place has great energy and ambience - down beat, yet classy and chill.

Convenience makes this place a decent choice but it lacks a bit in terms of menu choice and actual taste. I ordered the club sandwich; if I wasn't so hungry I wouldn't have eaten as much of it as I did. The side salad was the best part because it's plain romaine salad so...yeah. I would only come back if I needed to.

Perhaps breakfast or drinks are a better bet here.

Took 2 hours for a party of 5 at 5:30 to be seated. In 2017 not using OpenTable to manage your wait-list is ridiculous. We were trapped at the restaurant waiting for like 2 hours in case our number was up.

Bread was dropped on table 15 minutes after butter. They were out of prime rib which I was told after placing my order for prime rib. If things are 86d without staff knowing it is annoying but good back of house needs to communicate with front of house and say "2 orders left" or whatever.

The rib eye to replace prime rib was ok, not seasoned at all. I make a better steak at home.

Clam linguine in white sauce is better than the steak.

Skipped dessert because we didn't want to be there another two hours.

4 hours between walking in and getting on the list and getting out.

Service is horrible . Waiter came and brought hard cold bread and walked off . Never even introduced himself or even asked if we wanted anything to drink. Ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and chicken piccata and the chicken piccata was HORRIBLE. Since bringing our meal, our waiter has not come back to ask if we need anything else not even once. Yet keeps walking by and attending other tables. Been sitting here at the table for an hour and a half and he’s only come by TWICE. The food is completely over priced and tasted horrible. If you have the money to splurge , might as well go somewhere else for the same price that has better quality meals and attentive service. Definitely not worth the hype. Never coming here again ! !!

Worst experience at a restaurant. The waiter gave us constant attitude, and threw our plates on the table. He dropped food on my partner’s clothes and just provided the worst service. He got very angry when we did not leave a tip, and cussed us out of the restaurant. I’ve never experienced a more unprofessional restaurant. If I chose to not leave a tip, that is simply because I did not like the service. That gives the waiter no reason to cuss at me and my partner. Would not recommend this place at all.

Six stars. Words cannot do justice to the fantastic food, drink and service at this Bay Area iconic eatery. My family has been celebrating special events here for 3 generations, since 1972. As good as it gets!

Typical Fake Italian found across the USA. This is just a regular fake Italian restaurant. The portions are absolutely huge, sauces are heavily processed and include plenty of garlic. The prices are okay for the area and the portions are big, enough to be shared.

If you are looking for something slightly better than Olive Garden, this is your place. If you are looking for authentic and GOOD Italian food, this is not your place.

Always have a great time here! Beautiful atmosphere,food is always delicious and servers always friendly. Love the patio while watching passers by during Christmas in the park. Grab a glass of wine and an appetizer, sit and people watch for hours. The servers don't seem to mind! The chocolate bag, berry treat for after dinner is UH MAZING!!!!

Had reservations at 5:30 and was promptly seated and order taken. 1 hour and 20 minutes later only water had been served, and food was still not out. Numerous other patrons had come and already left.
When asked about drinks and our meal numerous times we were repeatedly told only a few more minutes. Unfortunately the manager could not help and we ultimately decided to leave.
Will not be returning anytime soon
