From my experience, prospective visitors should be warned that this place has no merit except for its location and archiectural history. I requested a "nice view" but got a terrible roof view. The rooms are impossibly small. Suitcases have to be used from the floor. The bathroom is barely functional. The walls are thin. Neither of us could use toilet properly due to insufficient knee room. There's no place to stash toiletries when using the bathroom tub and sink. There's only one lamp so one side of the bed is dark. The TV is a 25-year-old joke. TV channels did not even include CNN or MSNOW, among the most popular in the US. . We were warned by the desk clerk against parking on the streets overnight, only to learn that there is a huge free public parking garage just one plock away. My wife wanted to leave. Never again.

First of all, the hotel's front desk and other staff were all very hospitable. We arrived at the hotel at 11 o'clock. Although we couldn't check in early, the front desk asked us to leave our contact information and said they would notify us for free early check-in once the room was cleaned. When we checked in, the staff also kindly led us to the room and introduced the basic facilities before leaving. Although the facilities in the room were a bit old and there was a train passing by constantly beside, making it relatively noisy, which might not be suitable for the elderly, it was still within our acceptable range. If I come again next time, I will also choose to stay at this hotel.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Room was small and simple, but clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that the cleaning products they used were too strongly scented.

Room has PAPER THIN WALLS. Listened to every word from phone calls, their TV, conversations and unfortunate their "extra activities" that were quite explicit and loud. Had to check out and go to another hotel as of midnight as the walls are SO THIN.

What a kooky little piece of Winter Park history! The entire staff were lovely. The room felt very European. Everything was clean and had character. Did trains go by at different times? Yes. Could I hear the people in the room next to me? Sure. But, the hotel offers white noise machines and it was totally worth it to be in such a cool part of town. The elevator was so cool! So much character. I would definitely stay here again.

The place is ancient and full of history. Therefore, it needs updating. Simple things like caulking, the tile in the shower, updating the electricity wiring, etc. we always stay here. I love the location as it’s walkable to restaurants, shops, parks bars, farmers market, etc..
when we checked in, we were short a robe and washcloth which we requested two or three times. On our third day there housekeeping accommodated us and we’re very kind.
We know what to expect there and it’s worth what we spent. We’ll stay again.

The staff was wonderful! They checked us in early, carried our luggage for us and showed all about our room.

Staff were wonderful. Toilet and shower had problems- water would not drain. Train was loud at 1am every night. Restaurant and bar are not part of the hotel. $28 a day to park.

The staff was courteous but even though they warn you about the noise level, it is hard to adjust to it and get some rest.

Please don’t close/tear down this historical place! It’s squeaky and old sure! But so am I and sitting on the balcony people watching is magical. From our honeymoon to holidays! We love it!
