Holiday Inn Resort Daytona Beach Oceanfront by IHG in Daytona Beach

Overall, our stay at this Holiday Inn was average. The location is definitely a highlight, sitting right on the main road in Daytona Beach with easy access to the ocean. The pool area and main public spaces were very clean and well maintained, which we appreciated.

The rooms, however, could use some updating. The furniture showed noticeable wear and tear, giving the room a dated feel. Internet access was also a major frustration. We tried multiple times to connect but were unable to get reliable service during our stay.

On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with smiles several times, including at the front desk, which made the atmosphere pleasant.

One drawback is the resort fee. In our opinion, the fee was not worth it based on the amenities offered, or in this case, not offered.

In summary, the hotel has a great location and friendly staff, but room updates, reliable internet, and better value for the resort fee would greatly improve the experience.

We had a pleasant stay at this oceanfront property. Love the location - proximity to businesses and the beach. The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful (Nancy, Cherion, and Daniel). The hotel offers a range of activities, including cornhole, a heated pool, whirlpool, giant chess/checkers, and daily kids' events, which were a big hit with our family.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The breakfast service was slow, with a wait time of around 10 minutes to be seated, 15 minutes to take our order, and 45 minutes for food to arrive. At some point staff suggested families to seat wherever there was an available table. Problem was many tables still had dirty dishes... Given the family-friendly atmosphere, a lot of families will likely frequent the location so a faster eating option may work better especially for breakfast eg. Either have buffet options or ensure sufficient staffing. By day 2 I ended up going down and ordering breakfast then have the kids come down when the meals arrived at the table. Had a scary incident one night when there was an electrical burning smell coming from the window AC unit and the sound of static. Maintenance came by and turned the window unit and later in the morning Benjamin and Wilbur came and fixed (installed a new one). I've never experienced this but apparently it has to do with all the salt in the air, with this being an ocean front property.
Additionally, the lamp in the room interfered with charger functionality; additional lamps and electrical outlets would be appreciated.

The hotel really needs a handicapped ramp down to the beach instead of the stairs. We watched a family struggle to get a wheelchair down the stairs. It was an ok stay
