This is such a tricky post to write …
We stayed here for a week for my husband’s conference. We arrived & valet was jam packed. Receptionist wasn’t very welcoming/kind.
The hotel is all open with several buildings which is nice but it becomes challenging to walk when it’s raining — which it did half the time we were there.
The room itself was underwhelming. We couldn’t believe it had a shower curtain, no amenities in the bathroom like shower cap, mouth wash etc… but it was nice to have a room viewing the ocean because we were able to see whales every day!
Staff overall were ok but our phone charger & my husband’s sweater went “missing” and the hotel was not helpful with that… that was extremely frustrating & disappointing.
The buffet breakfast is $40/pp & honestly not worth it. They had the hardest scrambled eggs Ive ever tried & hardest waffles- maybe made of cement- no idea… not a good selection of fruit either. I was anticipating to see local foods like pineapple maybe even coconut- but nope.
Location wise it’s near the Whalers Village which has nice restaurant options, but honestly there are better hotels nearby … wouldn’t recommend staying here.

This is the best hotel in Maui! It's been my go-to for years. The staff always goes above and beyond to create a warm, inviting, friendly, and hospitable environment. The rooms and views are superb, the food is beyond delicious, and the amenities are top notch. I would highly recommend staying here at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. They are the best at what they do!

Good hotel on the beach. The hotel doesnt have enough restaurants or bars for its size. It is 15-20 minute walk to off site restaurants. Modern rooms. Our ocean front suite had a balcony off the bedroom right on the ocean. However, it was 2 feet wide so you could stand but there was no room for a chair. The main balcony with chairs off the living room had a view of the mountains. So, accurate description but not what we paid for.

I love this place so much. Perfect stay for a perfect vacation in the perfect island of Maui. Every employee we encountered was friendly and polite. Everything was clean and beautiful at all times. The walking path to the mall and Black Rock beach is a dream. I did their yoga class - great. We used their pickleball courts - great. Their pools and jacuzzis - great. I did come review the Hyatt mostly because I wanted to hype up the breakfast/dinner lounge. If you’re able to, I recommend it. I know you have to pay extra for it but in my opinion it was worth it. The breakfast is simple but delicious. Their coffee is amazing and you can get expressos anytime of the day. Their dinners are supposed to be appetizers but they could counted as full meals. Their drink specials are great too!!!

Overall, I love this hotel and can’t wait to go back.

We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a corner room in the main building, which offered a truly amazing view of the property, the ocean, and the island. The room was wonderfully quiet; the only sound I heard at night was the peaceful rhythm of the waves.

The swimming pool was large and deep, perfect for lap swimming. I especially appreciated that it felt slightly heated, making it comfortable to swim even at night.

The lounge access was incredibly convenient for grabbing coffee and small bites. Additionally, the lei making class was a fun and enjoyable activity.

Compared to other hotels on Kanaapli Beach, and even the beaches of western Maui, the Hyatt Resort's beach was the worst—too many pebbles, poor water quality, and quite disappointing. The hotel pool was also crowded and a bit chaotic, a conclusion reached after comparing it to nearby hotels. Breakfast was okay, but the receptionist, Manner, was quite surprised when we went to the hotel's steakhouse on our first night.

The Hyatt Resort I stayed at this time was not very nice. The hotel facilities were old and the garden was still under repair and in a mess. The restaurant was very dirty, flies were flying around the room and there was no management. The breakfast was limited in variety and the service was very poor. I had to wait 20-30 minutes in line for breakfast every day. The high price was really not worth it.

It’s a nice resort in a great location, however plenty of hidden fees, we paid for breakfast which wasn’t anything special, scrambled eggs from powder, coffee was pretty bad and weak and you had to pay extra which we only learned about when we paid 160$ for breakfast. Lack of healthy food and not suited for people who eat healthy unprocessed food.
I really liked the towel service, it was very convenient. Our room this time however (we stayed in the same hotel a week earlier) was not as great as our previous, it was more used, the fridge constantly leaking, and the air con did not work as well as in the previous room (it was ground floor with garden)
And the worst thing was, I requested a quiet room but we got one of the connected rooms and we could not fall asleep till round 23:00 when a screaming family next door finally put their kids to bed. It was really noisy. Big plus for the pools and hot tub. They really were nice
