We have been going to this resort for years and every year we love it! The service is impeccable from the moment you step into the lobby. The rooms are a good size and very clean. The property is perfectly situated on the Kaanapaali beach, giving you easy access to the beach. The resort is also a close drive to nearby Lahaina. The restaurants onsite are great and give you a large option of choices, all great tasting. There are 3 swimming pool areas giving you an option for loud and fun and also quiet and calm. They offer great BBQ areas to cook if you don't want to purchase food at their restaurants. The staff that works at the resort are wonderful, helpful and friendly. Every time we go back there are more than a few staff members that remember us which makes you feel right at home. Can't wait to get back there!!

Stunning resort amenities. Fantastic pool for kids (waterslide, basketball hoop), nice amenities (kids loved the snow cones), great location for getting to Lanai. Beach accessible, stunning sunsets. Walkable to great restaurants. Ask for a renovated room-we were in an original room and it is IN NEED of a renovation. Fine and clean.

We always enjoy our stay at Marriott. We stayed in a newly renovated 1 bedroom in the lanai tower. It was very good. Everything in the unit was first class , except for the small fridge with no ice maker. The other crazy thing was there is no stove or hot plate to cook with. There is a kitchen facility that we did use once near the front desk . A community kitchen at a first class resort ? Not the best idea ! The tower we were in only had one elevator that was close to the main entrance. This building needs an additional elevator near the beach entrance . The staff were great although very short handed

We had a wonderful stay at the Marriott Vacation Club in Maui. Our villa was nicely updated and extremely spacious—we stayed in a two-bedroom, three-bath villa with three decks, which gave us plenty of room to relax and enjoy the views. One pleasant surprise was being able to check in early, which made the arrival day even better. The pool area is very well done, with plenty of pool space and a great overall atmosphere. My only minor complaint is that the pool could use a bit more sun coverage. While the straw umbrellas are attractive, they don’t fully cover four chairs, so one chair often ends up exposed to the sun—especially as it gets busier and chairs are moved closer together. Also, they heat the pool in the evening. I recommend that they start heating the pool even during the day as the water is very cold. The beach was beautiful and easily accessible. I was initially concerned about not having in-unit laundry, but it turned out to be a non-issue. The laundry facilities on the lower level were convenient, had plenty of machines available, and were free to use. It is still better to have a laundry in your room, but this was workable. We stayed in the Molokai Tower, which was extremely convenient to everything on the property. Another big plus is the location—there are many great restaurants within easy walking distance in the Whalers Village area. Overall, this was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I would absolutely recommend this Marriott Vacation Club for a Maui vacation.

Lots of construction; a closed pool area; beaches have washed away; poor to mediocre food. That about sums up a week at this property. Go elsewhere to a place where you might have a chance of getting a pool chair.

I arrived for my 30th anniversary and first trip to Hawaii. We got our room and it was tired and distressed with a view of the dumpster and maintenance area and boiler equipment. I asked for a property manager who was nice, but she couldn’t help me get a different room. I offered up to $2000 to change our location in this 30% full property. No luck. We tried to sleep with the windows open but the boiler had a bearing going out. This was a terrible experience for our first trip to Hawaii. The property was under much needed renovations and we were butte up against the construction zone with jack hammers and metal grinders. They are heavy on wanting you to visit the welcome center for free gifts and time share indoctrination, but the experience is a swing and a miss. We had mediocre massages/ spa experiences for the price. We were also informed the water would be off for 4 hours. The pool and grounds are nice, but not enough to offset the rest of the short comings. I can’t imagine a sales career in time shares at this location . ALL of the neighboring properties are much nicer! Sheraton, Hyatt, Westin etc… choose wisely!

I’m afraid the aloha spirit is missing at the Maui ocean club. All the little things that made it once special either is now gone or you need to pay extra for. Fees and costs go up while service and the aloha spirit go down. The beach walk food is mediocre, walk way always washed out, pool side entertainment very limited and construction noise replaced the sound of ocean waves. Poor Lahaina town with its shop and restaurants lost. Maui’s days of being the best are gone and for me—I’m going elsewhere as well.

I booked a 5 night stay here using my Bonvoy points. I was choosing between here and the Sheraton Maui Resort (Black Rock) but went with the Maui Ocean Club as they don't charge resort fees and their daily parking was cheaper. Those 2 things alone saved me a few hundred dollars. At one point, the point redemption differential between the 2 properties was about 25k points higher here vs the Sheraton but the dollar savings convinced me to go with this one. Plus, it got me a 1 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms so it was a much bigger space. As this is a vacation club property, I knew going in that my Marriott Platinum status won't mean anything but it was ok as I didn't need a late checkout. We checked in promptly at 4pm. The clerk at the front desk explained the property pretty thoroughly although the one part I can't recall if she went over was the housekeeping. I say that because we didn't receive daily housekeeping but only 1 midweek housekeeping. I thought that because I booked my reservation directly through Marriott that I was granted daily housekeeping but that didn't seem to be the case. In the end, it didn't matter too much as it was just the 2 of us. The room itself was nice and clean. I liked that it had 2 balconies. Our room wasn't directly facing the beach but more at an angle. It worked out as our room didn't get much of the direct afternoon sun and thus the room stayed cool during our entire stay. Actually, our room was much cooler than it was outside just by having the balcony door open without the need for AC. One of the pools was closed for maintenance but the main pool was open. The property update site mentioned construction work would be happening during our stay but we didn't find that to be a problem at all. I enjoyed the slide in the main pool although I wish it was longer and stayed open later. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Just hearing the ocean waves while getting ready to fall asleep was a treat in itself. We also liked watching the sunset from our balcony. The complimentary laundry facility was also a big deciding factor. I thought I'd have to wait for a washer/dryer to free up but they have about 10+ each so finding an empty one was never an issue. If I could make a suggestion though, I recommend posting signs to leave the washer door open while not in use. These were all front loading washers and if you close the door after use, the residual moisture inside the washer can't evaporate resulting in mold and mildew buildup plus that nasty dingy smell. I had to go through several washers before I managed to find one that didn't have that smell. One drawback was the proximity of the parking garage to our room. We were assigned to the farther garage so it took 5 minutes from room door to car door. A minor quibble and honestly not that big of a deal although it was a bit annoying when I realized halfway to my room that I forgot something in the car. My wife Michelle and I have visited this resort three times, and it’s been an incredible holiday destination every time. We’ve gone both with and without our kids, and the experience has always been fantastic. The resort is exceptionally clean, with multiple pools and a wide range of activities to keep everyone entertained. The diverse crowd from all over adds to the vibrant atmosphere. We would recommend this place without any hesitation!

Awesome property with kind staff and spacious rooms. Stayed for a week as family of 5 in a two bedroom ocean front unit. Unit was huge - lots of space for our crew and the full kitchen and laundry in unit was fantastic. Beautiful views! We loved everything about our stay - only factors that led to give 4 stars instead of 5: resort only had Pepsi products (we very much prefer Coke), pillows were horrible - old and floppy and uncomfortable, and the onsite restaurants were mediocre. Everything else was fantastic!
