Motel 6 Boise - Airport in Boise

Overall room interior design was nice. Very basic. Cleanliness is a bit questionable, stains on towels. Only offered one large towel for a room that has two queen size beds. Shower floor stained.

Advertises laundry services, but doesn’t offer change due to robbery. No change at front desk either. Asked staff if we could use their laundry, but got told no since they have their own back to back. Beds were firm and pillows flat. Kind of out in the middle of nowhere. Gas stations and food are not walking distance but it was quiet throughout the night.

Joe (I believe was his name) was the best thing about this hotel. He was very friendly and helpful during the check in process. The beds were the worst at any motel 6 I've stayed in, as you could feel the springs through the mattresses. There was 1 bath towel in the room when we checked in with 3 guests for a 3 night stay (2 adults and 1 child). Had to go to lobby to request more. Hallways had a really strong unpleasant smell. 2nd day we were there, we had an employee (manager maybe?) come by the room claiming that someone was complaining about us fighting and breaking things in the room. She was very rude when she approached me about it. My husband was laying on the bed watching videos on his phone and I was talking on the phone using speaker, as I was trying to get ready for the day. There was barely any noise coming from our room, and the way she approached the situation was very unpleasant. "I've been getting reports of fighting and breaking things in here" in a very rude, hostile, and forceful manner. It made the rest of the stay very uneasy, as I felt as though we were walking on pins and needles. I couldn't wait to check out and head home after that. I stay at hotels frequently, mainly for work, this time was during a vacation, and I've never had this kind of experience. My best advice, next time, rather than accusing someone of something that was "reported" in a hostile way, maybe approach them in a more sensitive manner, in the event that you maybe had the wrong room or a false claim. Maybe the noise was in fact coming from the loud vacuums that were being used on the floor below us by their housekeeping staff. I understand the need to follow up on claims, but not with that kind of attitude. Like previously stated, the overnight employee, Joe, was the most pleasant thing about this stay.

The front desk clerk informed me that my reservation had been canceled because my credit card was allegedly declined. This explanation made no sense, as I had used a credit card with a $5000 balance. The clerk offered me another room but at a higher rate and without the microwave and refrigerator I had requested. He mentioned that their manager runs all credit cards at 6 PM for guests who haven't checked in yet and cancels reservations if the cards are declined. He claimed this happened to me and five other guests. There was no information about this policy when I made the reservation. Had I known, I would have called ahead to inform them of my late arrival. This practice seems like a bait and switch tactic. Another guest next to me confirmed that he experienced the same issue and had to pay more for another room. Later, I encountered another woman with three children who faced the same problem, with the clerk claiming her credit card was also declined. Feeling tired and frustrated, I reluctantly agreed to take the higher-priced room without the requested amenities. I then called Motel 6 customer service to file a complaint. The operator helped me book another room at Motel 6 Meridian and advised the clerk not to charge my card since no actual payment had been made yet. However, the clerk refused to cancel the charge and instead had me fill out a form for a refund, stating that his manager would need to approve it. While I was at the front desk, another woman arrived with a similar complaint about her reservation being canceled due to a declined credit card. I provided her with the customer service number and encouraged her to report her experience as well. This experience was highly frustrating and disappointing. The deceptive practices and poor customer service at Motel 6-Airport in Boise, Idaho, are unacceptable. I urge anyone considering staying here to reconsider and look for alternative accommodations.

I reserved a room online. I requested a ground level, no smoking room. I got a second story room. Although the room itself did not smell like cigarettes, the hallway to and from the room reaked like cigarettes. The toilet flushed very slowly, like it was almost plugged up. The front desk person was extremely friendly!
