Nippon Hotel in Samarkand

The owner supposedly speaks fluent Japanese, but she was out.
The female manager doesn't speak Japanese, English, or Russian at all. Communication is limited to Google Translate. When I dropped off my laundry, she returned it still damp and unfolded in a bag, so I had to hang it out again. I'm a bit lazy, considering laundry dries quickly if I do it early in the morning.
There was no hot water kettle in the room, so I asked for hot water, but it took over 30 minutes. It took so long, so I went to check and got hot water from the manager's water heater in his room. Even getting hot water requires Google Translate. When I went to get hot water in the morning, I was greeted with a very sullen face. I've never heard of a hotel manager who wakes up later than the guests. I wish they'd have someone who can at least speak basic English.
The location is great. The rooms are spacious and shoes are strictly prohibited, which is fine for Japanese people, but even though the hotel says "NIPPON" on the wall, when the owner isn't there, no one can understand either Japanese or English. She's kind at heart, but communication was extremely difficult. Without Google Translate, it would be impossible to explain without pictures.
