This place absolutely should not be in business. It singlehandedly ruined our time in Uzbekistan.
We arrived to find the front door locked and no one working reception. It was over 100 degrees out, and we had to wait outside until someone passing by noticed us and eventually tracked down a local who could let us in. When we finally got inside, we were told they had overbooked and had no room available, despite our confirmed Booking.com reservation.
They offered to send us to/pay for another hotel, but when we Googled it, it was marked as permanently closed. From there, the whole thing started to feel not just unprofessional, but deeply uncomfortable and potentially unsafe.
We spent 2h+ trying to communicate via Google Translate with a family member or staff member who clearly didn’t know anything and wasn’t interested in helping. When I asked to speak with the owner/manager, I was told it wouldn't be possible as he lives in Moscow, and he's currently asleep (even though it was 11am). But apparently no one was authorized to do anything without him.
We ended up having to book a last-minute hotel at 3-4x the price, just to get out of the situation. What a complete waste of time, money, and energy. We’ve since reported the property to Booking.com.

I had an excellent stay in this charming and typical hotel right in the center of Samarkand's old town, close to all the places to visit (Gur Emir, Registan, etc.). The host was extremely responsive to messages and provided all the information I needed to have a wonderful stay in Samarkand. I also particularly appreciated the hotel's flexibility: despite arriving extremely early at the hotel because of my flight, I was able to check in early and rest before starting my visits. The room was very spacious and air-conditioned. The value for money is excellent. If I'm back in Samarkand, I'll come back without hesitation, I recommend it with my eyes closed! Thanks again, and looking forward to seeing you 😃

The room was perfect: clean, comfortable, with a newly renovated private bathroom, including shampoo and shower gel.
But what made this place truly special was the human connection. The owners took us around the city, sharing their culture and stories. It was an unforgettable local and heartfelt experience — a real immersion into a family with their hearts wide open.

Absolutely outstanding stay at Chehran! From check-in to check-out, the service was impeccable.
Every staff member went above and beyond, making us feel incredibly welcome and valued.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff for the quality of service. All wishes were taken into account, excellent comfortable rooms, location to interesting and popular places. I would also like to emphasize the breakfasts, very different and delicious. The rooms are clean, cozy, everything you need for a comfortable stay is there. An exceptional & affordable place to stay in Smarkand. Just next to the all prominent attractions in the heart of Samarkand city. On the walking distance from famous Registan Square & Gur e Amir Mausoleum. Easy & smooth Check-in, easy road-access, beautiful & clean bedrooms with brand new furniture & pleasant decor. Staff was very professional, polite, attentive & helpful to our needs. The owner of the property Mr. Zafar & Chehran are very cordial & hospitable hosts. They went a extra-mile to help us explore the city. It felt like home with them around & helping us make our trip memorable. We will highly recommend our friends, tourists & visitors to choose this beautiful & warm place during their stay in Samarkand. We will thank the owners for their hospitality during our stay there.

Excellent new hotel. Small, but very cozy. It's about 10 minutes' walk from Registan. There is a courtyard, a shared kitchen, you can cook, eat, wash, in general, there are all the amenities for travelers. We were by car and with a dog. The car was parked on the street right at the gate and the attitude towards animals turned out to be just wonderful! We stayed at this hotel in May 25 twice and both times everything was just great! The owners are very friendly, which also leaves a pleasant impression of the hotel. Overall 5+

You will definitely not find such a price-quality ratio in Samarkand anywhere else. Hospitable hosts will tell you everything about Samarkand and help you get to any attractions. Rooms for every taste shine with cleanliness, It feels like you are a guest in a palace. Now if you have a trip to Samarkand - only Chehran!
