near to Samarkand airport, but to see historical places, you need to get a taxi, there are some fast food stores nearby, breakfast was kind of ok, rooms are ok, but in my room i could hear how hot water were running through pipes for the central heating system, all night...reception staff was ok, just an average place, nothing special.

We stayed 3 nights here during our visit to Samarkand. We would highly recommend this hotel. Nice newly renovated rooms, cozy garden with swimming pool and very friendly staff.

We had a very nice stay in Orient Star Hotel @ Samarkand. The people were very friendly and always helpfull. The hotel has very good rooms, nice new restaurant for breakfast, garden with large pool. Thank you !

Modern hotel around 15/20 mins drive from main historic sites. Perhaps consider a hotel nearer to the old town if touring Nice bedroom (Room 106) overlooking central courtyard and minaret Usual facilities except tea making King sized bed strangely had double bed sized quilt so didnt reach both sides of the bed. Decent breakfast Staff speak ok English

This is a comfortable and clean hotel near regestan touristic sight. Free wifi is available in the rooms but the signal is a little bit poor. Breakfast quality is good. There is an exchange bureau and a giftshop and bar available.

The Orient Star is a large hotel frequented mainly by groups of organized tours. At the back it has a pleasant garden with a swimming pool, the common areas and the rooms are clean and the food in the restaurant is quite good. The rooms are quite large, with air conditioning, TV and fridge. However, the furniture is old and creaky and the TV is too small, difficult to see from a certain distance. On the other hand, the bathroom is spacious and well-kept, with a large shower and a hairdryer. A hotel neither good nor bad. The location with respect to the monuments of Samarkand is terrible: to reach the Registan you need a 25-30 minute walk on a noisy and busy road or a short taxi ride.

The hotel is a 10-minute drive from Registan Square. It has a private courtyard with a gazebo and a swimming pool. It's cozy and well-maintained. There's a beautiful restaurant with a dome. We were upgraded to a two-room suite. The living room has a sofa, TV, and refrigerator. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed with fine linens. Terry robes and slippers are provided. The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub and hairdryer. The wooden furniture is worn, but somehow very cozy. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby. The breakfast is varied: scrambled eggs, sausages, cold meats and vegetables, cottage cheese, yogurt, and pastries.

The hotel reflects the Ousbeque decor well. Very clean rooms with smiling staff; very generous breakfast. Very affordable drinks with excellent local beers that cost 3 to 4 euros, knowing that a draft beer costs 40,000 soums on average.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The heating worked well. We had a room facing the garden (away from the Main Street). The walk to the famous mosque is long but do-able. The main problem that we encountered was that cab drivers don’t seem to know where the hotel is. I recommend loading the address and a map on your phone before your trip..
