There is a chronic shortage of hot water in MANY of the rooms, based on my own experience (moved rooms twice) and on the experience of my colleagues in this hotel. A 5-star hotel should not be hit or miss when it comes to having a hot shower. Water temperature is tepid at best, and despite claiming many times that the "engineers" were going to fix it, nothing has changed in nearly a week of staying here. Be warned! Also, when the air quality is bad (Samarkand is among the most polluted cities in the world in winter), you will be breathing it indoors as many of the windows are not properly sealed; it's like living next to a factory exhaust pipe. Also, even on the 15th floor, the bass vibrations of the night club on the 20th floor can be felt. This could be a world-class conference center destination...but it falls short in these crucial ways.
UPDATE: The hotel claims (in their response below) that they have resolved the hot water issue to my satisfaction; they have not. The water remains merely lukewarm in my room. Furthermore, the receptionist at the front desk admitted that hot water has been a problem at this hotel for 2-3 months now. Be warned.

Positives: modern hotel, spacious rooms with everything you need, friendly reception staff.
Negatives:
Some kind of organizational genius decided to put a club on the top floor, and even though we had a room on the 15th floor and the club was on the very top floor (I don’t remember how many floors there are, but over 20), the bass could be heard constantly.
I wouldn’t directly call the ground-floor bar a scam, but the staff seem to try to push the bill higher: I asked for some local water at around 40k soʻm for 500 ml, and they brought me Evian at 330 ml for triple the price (120k soʻm). They said they don’t make cocktails except for Mojito (they put it on the bill as Mojito for 65k, but somehow they charged the syrup and two limes separately — this is the first time I’ve seen a cocktail treated like Lego). Yet when I went to the bar to pay, they had a wide variety of cocktails prepared for other people. At least they added a 15% service charge themselves on the bill, so everything would be “fine.”

Everything is great. But they have only one option in dinner for vegetarians. Due to some event, entry is restricted. Staff is supportive but there are many challenges like taxi service, market is very fare, no option for vegetarians, etc….

Silk Road by Minyon is absolutely the best place to stay in Samarkand. Beautiful design, warm atmosphere, excellent service and perfect location. A truly memorable experience — highly recommend.

Building and room comfort is ok , but breakfast definitly not at a 5 stars level and the night club of the hôtel making heavy noise and vibrations until 2:00 AM , impossible to sleep especially when you have to get up at 5:00 to go at the airport. When I asked the lobby to solve that : no effect and no compensation for the convenience. I have been travelling in many countries, I never seen that before. Is it a night club or a hôtel ?

The hotel is located in the park and you need to pay a parking fee to enter the hotel. The attitude of the hotel front desk is very bad!

The room was spacious, bright, and clean. The bedding was high-quality, and the view outside the window was breathtaking and refreshing! The breakfast was rich and delicious, and the environment was wonderful. Overall, this was the most comfortable hotel I've stayed in during my travels in Central Asia.

A good hotel overall, but certain things fall short of 5-star expectations
The hotel has many great qualities — the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, which is definitely a highlight. Staff are generally polite, and the design and atmosphere are pleasant.
However, considering this is a 5-star hotel, there are a few issues that shouldn't be happening.
Breakfast was exactly the same for six days in a row, with no variation at all. More importantly, if you arrive around 9:30 (even though breakfast is served until 11:00), most of the food is not replenished, so you're left with whatever is still available.
The outdoor pool is quite small, with very few loungers, and there is no visible staff to assist if anything is missing. Towels, for instance, were often unavailable. The indoor pool gets very crowded on weekends, and during our stay, a large group of families with children behaved quite inappropriately. We reported it to the staff, who gave a verbal warning, but it had little effect.
Another issue is the shuttle service within the complex, which is huge, only runs until 6 PM. In the evening, you're left to walk up to 2 km if you want to explore some of the attractions.
In summary, this is a nice hotel with potential, but some organizational and service-related issues need improvement to truly live up to its 5-star rating.
