Worst experience of the whole country so far. I made a reservation and received confirmation for a large family sized room but upon arrival, we were given a small room and told the same price until we complained, then they gave us about $3.00 discount. These comforter on the bed had stains from somebody else's bodily fluids and the air conditioner leaked water so much that we had to put a garbage can under it, to capture the water. I emptied it three times throughout the night, so we didn't wake up pool on our floor.
We complained to booking.com where we made the reservation and the hotel actually had the nerve to say we never stayed there and that we were a no show, which would mean we got double charged since we paid in cash upon arrival.
They called and left us a message saying, "yes, we made a mistake and you made a mistake", but our only mistake was choosing to stay at this place.
When we asked for the included breakfast were told "no breakfast for you, not included."
Im the voice mail message they left us, they said, "we tried to find you to give you breakfast, but you had already left."
We have videos of the air conditioner, leaking, profusely and filling the garbage can as well. There's a video of us leaving the room that was clearly just slept in.
Do we also have a video the very black, scary alleyways, that go to the hotel that smelled like sewer.
And even with that, they claim that we never stayed there and were a no show.
Bait, and switch and a liar in charge does not make it's a very pleasant day for anyone. Beware of this place.
Be prepared for a very skinny, and almost pitch black rough roadway, that smells of sewer to walk to this hotel.
Dishonest liars!!

I just experienced the best breakfast spread of my life! Beyond the food, the host’s warmth and hospitality made me feel completely at home, even in a faraway place.

B&B Emir is a great budget option in Samarkand. It is conveniently located, close to Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum. We had a really late night check-in which was quite smooth and a taxi was arranged to pick us up from the train station. We stayed in a room of 4 (2 bunk beds). The bed was quite comfortable, with a small lamp and charging port. The common room is great to socialise with fellow travellers or to just sit and work.

The breakfast was quite average with only a few options and the bread was very hard. I noticed a few of the older folks struggling to get through their bread.

The room can be really noisy but OK let's say it's understandable for a cheap bnb. The shower and faucet give extremely little water flow and it takes long time to wash and the little water doesn't even sink properly. The breakfast is not quality but the problem is they don't give any more water after a small cup of tea or milk. I couldn't swallow the food

The fortunate positioning of this guesthouse near the Gur-e-Amir mausoleum and town center is noteworthy. My room was comfortable and looked exactly like the photo. It had everything needed inside, including a good conditioning system. The guesthouse charged a fair price (about $30) for my two-night stay, and they kept the bathroom clean. The staff assisted me in ordering food and delivering it to my suite at night. Breakfast also was nice!

The first issue was low water pressure in the shower, and one night there was no hot water. I had to shower in another unoccupied room afterwards.

I apologized and offered to pay for the additional expenses when I checked out late. Even though the owner took the money, he claimed it’s not about money and told the other guests to “complain” to me.

Overall, a decent option for a brief stay, just stay out of the conflicts with staff.

The guest house it self is quite nice and the rooms are completely ok for the price but the owners are not friendly - never say hello, do not interact at all with the guests, in case you have a question, it feels like you disturb them etc.
What has also not been good is that there is NO hot shower - even reasking three times if its normal that the shower is only luke-warm they promised to change it but for three days nothing changed. It more seems like they are regulating the temperature and do not want it to be hotter…

Althrough the place is wonderful and very well situated we were a bit disappointed sometimes by the managing staff : asking us to take tours with them, rude to other staff members, disturbing us at night because they wanted to change dollars to sums.
Also the room didn’t have a real windows which is to take into consideration as you can spend half the day in it during summer because of high temperatures. It also had only one electrical plug and the WiFi was bad.
The breakfasts however were very good and the waitress always smiling and helpful.

Positive:
The hotel is very well located, just a few steps away of the Gur-e Amir mausoleum. They organized us a trip to Shakhrisabz when we asked them to.

The breakfast was varied, you can choose between coffee and tea and the waitresses were very friendly.

Negative:
The bed was quite hard and we asked for a a double bed and it was two single beds together.

When we organized the trip to Shakhrisabz with one of the staff of the hotel and it seems that the hotel manager was not aware of that because he wanted to leave us far from the hotel and he requested us to pay him directly.

Lovely place with very helpful staff. The dorms are comfortable and clean. The shower often lack hot water but are much better than other places I have been to in Samarkand. The common area is also beautiful and cosy. And bonus is a quite nice view of Amir Timur mausoleum from the first floor.

Loved staying here, all staff were friendly and at times hilarious! Everything was fantastic really and the location is amazing, makes it so easy to see Gur-I-Emir all lit up at night. Highly highly recommended.

The worst b&b I've lived in Uzbekistan. The worst breakfast. The worst internet. The worst water. The worst service in general. Don't stay here: they will try to fool you.
