Madelise Central Hotel & Travel in Hanoi

Was thoroughly disappointed with how pushy the hotel was with giving them good reviews and the old rooms. Considering the price, the rooms were old fashioned and not that clean. The lift had a weird smell as well.

The staff was really nice and welcoming to us when we checked in. However, on our last day, they were very pushy and insistent on us reviewing them on TripAdvisor. They stood next to us to make sure we reviewed them well and one staff even took my phone to do write their own review when I couldn’t hit the 200 character limit.

My friend put a 4/5 star review as the rooms were not amazing and was confronted by one of the staff when we came home at night to change the review. WEIRD!

When we were checking out, they asked us again to complete a paper review for them despite knowing that our tour bus was waiting outside for us. They seemed nonchalant and insistent on us doing it for them even though we were clearly rushing off.

I don’t blame the staff (in fact, all of them were great and had great attitude and was super nice), but rather the management who impose this on them to pressure paying customers to ridiculous demands. As a customer paying so much per night, I would not be writing this complaint if the rooms were worth the price and if I was not forced and pressurised to write only 5 star reviews.
