Mely Hotel in Hanoi

Very noisy

When it comes to roach motels I’ve never seen one, at least not until now! Arriving at any hotel I always check the beds first, you can see in the photos that I was welcomed with these lovely massive stains all over both pillows, the sheets were so filthy and soiled you can see the black/brown tinge to them, for the mattress you could choose the side with stains or the side with the holes hard and creaky it was nightmare fuel... the exciting stuff came over the few hours after our late arrival as the many many roach guests that were sharing our room began to appear on all the walls of the bathroom and later the bedroom also!

On top of this the manager begged my business partner not to complain that day because of the lunar calendar, we respected that belief and left the hotel without causing a fuss. Now the following day the hotel will not reply to my messages are they were so prompt to do before all of this occurred.

After your stay your next destination or home will be treated to the joy of the unexpected guests that moved into your stuff during your stay here. You will enjoy months of roach eggs hatching in your luggage and vacation clothes. As my business partner had just returned from
Bangkok ALL of his possessions were in this room. We stacked everything we had on a chair. And I dosed that room so thick in cedar wood and other essential oils we could hardly breathe! But warding then off for a few hours was necessary as I said they were crawling in every single wall by the time the early morning had come.

To show respect to the local customs and culture and the be ignored by the management really takes the insult up to new levels. Advertised on here and booked through Agoda you shouldn’t have to worry about the local culture if it means you are sleeping on beds stained with body fluids and god knows what else and have a total roach infestation seeping through every wall of the room while you just literally PAY for it!

Messy room, stinging smell. I had to use my own perfume to make that disgusting smell disappear. Worst choice ever

I am not telling fake info. I am always polite and everything it is ok when i am traveling.
- [ ] But this time they have been Unrespectfully with us. We arrived at 6 am after night bus from Hue and we went directly to the Mely Hotel. There was a man at the reception and he didn’t speak english. We cecked in and we get superior room because our it wasn’t ready yet. Great. We arrived in the room and we felt in sleep. So tired. After one hour a girl call us at the phone in the room, we answered and she told “sorry you were sleeping, we will talk later.” At 13:23 we were at the reception to go out and give them the keys. They start to apologize about the early ceck in and they ask us in a very rude mood 20 euro more. We found an offert for the room in agoda. We payed 13 euro including breakfast. They ask us more almost double. They said if we didn’t pay they call the police and they did it. After she said if we didnt pay they keep our passport. Illegal. At the same time we went to police station and we came back with a police man. In total we have been there 3 hours, but we didn’t pay for it. Very bad treatment.
- [ ] The hotel is okay of course but i have never had a bad experience like that, and we used to sleep everywhere but the rispect it have to come before.
