I was truly delighted with the service at this hotel. From the moment I made my reservation and throughout my entire stay, the service was consistently top-notch.
Shortly after booking, the staff contacted me to ask if I needed an airport transfer and kindly helped arrange everything smoothly.
Everyone I interacted with was very professional, friendly, and welcoming, which made me feel comfortable from the start.
I stayed in a Deluxe Room, which was spacious, cozy, and very well maintained.
Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of choices, and I really enjoyed it.
The hotel is also in a very convenient location, just a short walk from Hoàn Kiếm Lake and close to many great restaurants.
Overall, the staff were truly outstanding and made my stay in Vietnam even more special. I would definitely love to come back again.

First off, the hotel is located in the Old Quarter, north of Hoan Kiem Lake. As you might know, the Old Quarter is a bustling area with narrow streets, constantly crowded with cars, motorbikes, and people all day long. The moment you step out of the hotel, you're greeted by a massive crowd and endless options for entertainment, activities, and food. Being right in the heart of Hanoi's tourist district, most attractions are within walking distance.

All the buildings here are old; it is, after all, the old town. (If you're expecting a modern hotel, you should look into the French Quarter in the south.) Despite that, the hotel and rooms were surprisingly quiet. While it might vary by room, the suite I stayed in on the 7th floor (the top floor, with the 8th floor being the restaurant) was small, but the balcony was incredibly spacious, much larger than I expected, which was fantastic. As a smoker, it felt like heaven. Check out the balcony photo! ^^)

Prices might be a bit on the higher side for Vietnam, but considering the prime location, I saved a lot on Grab/taxi fares. Plus, the 8th-floor restaurant, which serves breakfast, is decent enough – you can easily verify its quality by searching it on Google Maps.

Surprisingly, most guests were Caucasian rather than Asian, which I personally appreciated for the quiet atmosphere. Lastly, the staff seemed mostly young, but they were quite friendly. The welcome drink was a nice touch, the luggage storage service was excellent, and their recommendations for local attractions were helpful. I also asked them to arrange a taxi to the airport on my last day, and it was a smooth ride (it can be difficult to get a Grab on weekend evenings in this area, so I asked the front desk, and they arranged a large taxi for almost the same price as a Grab, which was very impressive. T_T_T_T).

In short, I recommend this hotel to anyone who can truly appreciate the advantages of staying in a Hanoi Old Quarter hotel.

However, this place is definitely not suitable for young children or family trips. I didn't see a single child during my entire stay, and I wouldn't bring my own kids to this area either. It's more suited for solo travelers, couples, or small groups of adults. If you've read reviews complaining about not getting any sleep due to the noise until dawn in the Old Quarter, right in the middle of the bustling area, I'd suggest you do a bit more research on Hanoi. There's plenty of information on the internet and YouTube these days! ^^ Anyway, I just wanted to jot this down at the airport before leaving Hanoi, hoping it helps you make an informed decision.

I had such a great stay at Emerald Waters in Hanoi. The service really stood out to me because the staff were genuinely attentive and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable the whole time. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel warm and personal. The location is also super convenient for exploring the city, and for the price, it felt like amazing value. I would happily stay here again.

What truly stood out during our stay was the exceptional service. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. From check-in to check-out, they greeted us with warm smiles and remembered small details that made us feel valued as guests.

The front desk team patiently assisted us with directions, bookings, and local recommendations, always going the extra mile without being asked. Housekeeping was thorough and respectful, and any request we had was handled quickly and professionally. The service alone is reason enough to stay here, and we would happily return and recommend it to others.

It feels like a four-star hotel?! Again. It certainly has a great location, and it's incredibly cheap, so I guess that's what you'd expect. What's a standing balcony? There's a window, but all you can see is the open-ceiling wall... But it's fine. It's cheap, and the location is great. The staff were all friendly and nice. They said they'd pack breakfast in a box for me because I was checking out early, but they forgot.

A wonderful stay at the heart of the city. Walkable to tourists must visiting places or call Grab car is super easy. Lots of SPA shop for walk-in foot massage good deal, safe and clean. Room is relatively spacious with a kind size bed and a single adult bed for us as a couple with a toddler, though with a small window for air ventilation but no problem for us just a short stay. Comfortable and clean beddings, surprisedly with a buffet breakfast though not a large scale but good enough for a satisfying one. The most impressive part is the service just like a top hotel for the staffs, especially thanks to Tracy and Claire, with excellent English speaking makes our communication so easy, and their passion and their warm hospitality which is comparable to 5 stars hotel we just stayed before moving to here due to prime location. Thanks to the hotel crews for giving us a wonderful experience in Hanoi. The people is always the factor made up with a great trip! We definitely recommended this hotel to travlers.

We stayed at the Emeralds for two nights and arrived super early. The staff where outstanding and organized already our room to be ready well before our original check-in time. During our stay every staff-member was incredible, from giving us recommendations to helping us with our luggage to be carried from the hotel to the pick-up point for our next journey. The breakfast was great too with freshly made eggs to our liking and a vast variety of Vietnamese & European flavours. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom nicely designed and great. Room was clean (cleaned daily), the only thing though even if we did have a window it was right a meter away from the next house- so no real view (but usual for a buisy city). The curtains where a bit dirty but that was it. You have a safe in the room and enough space. Thank you so much and all the best😊 location was incredible & it was quiet at nights

Because I arrived during a National Day rehearsal, many roads were closed. Luckily, my accommodation wasn't affected by the wind and was conveniently located on the edge of the closures, making it very easy to call a taxi. Most importantly, the hotel staff were very helpful, introducing the surrounding area and recommending good places to eat and have fun.

However, the downside is that the hotel itself might be a bit old.

Had a great stay three night stay here! The breakfast buffet is on the smaller side but delicious and the staff are incredibly helpful. The downside of our stay was that we were given a windowless room so beware that you might be given one even though the listing doesn’t not mention this. Although we had a great stay here, we probably wouldn’t have booked here if we knew we would get a room without a window.
