Hanoi Boutique Hotel & Spa in Hanoi

Considering the price, the facility is average. Good things are location is very near to the main attractions and Owner is very friendly and helpful. Bad things are there is no lift. So, I had to carry my luggage all the way to the upstairs as I was given the room at the 4th floor. Also, road access to the facility is a bit narrow and there are lots of street markets all over the place near to the hotel. So, it is impossible to drive up to the hotel by car. On the day of my check out, there was a heavy rainfall, but none of the cabs were ready to pick me at the hotel. I had to go to the main street from the hotel by walking. So, if you are backpack traveler, this option may be the best for you, but if you have travelling with families with heavy luggage, then I do not recommend staying there.

Important notice about "small room" at the hotel.
They have a room called "small room" whose ceiling is lower than the regular room. It was roughly 160cm-180cm, and the door is also 165cm. I felt it were a room featuring "Alice in Wonderland."

So, if you don't want lower ceilings, just confirm it's not the "small room" or ask the receptionist to upgrade it. The master is a kind/friendly and considerate (somehow talkative) person.

The bed was soft, AC didn't have any problems, bathroom was clean. I always check the taps and the shower, but here it is beyond the Vietnamese standard (usually looks a bit dirty).

The best thing overall here is the location. It's located in Thanh Hà alley with local vibes. The alley is very close to the party district but no noises came into the room. 10 outta 10.

Motorcycle traffic jams right at the door and up and down the street. FYI so you can prepare yourself.
Overall nice stay. This was during Tet celebrations after all. Great experience.

Hotel is in the middle of the old quarter with people selling food and chopping up meat at the front of the building! No cars allowed on this street so have to be dropped off at the beginning of the street and walk to the hotel. No lift and stairs are steep but the lovely guy at reception carried my huge and heavy bag up the two flights of stairs. Area is noisy and no sound proof. Woken up at 7am by loud noises and also karaoke singing can be heard late into the night. Room has no glass on bathroom window which is small and high but opens up to the corridor or the hotel (strange)!  Bed was comfortable. Exceptional service from hotel reception. 

The team here is fantastic! Jeremy was really wonderful and is highly attentive, positive and a great problem-solver. He creates a very personal experience. All the staff are very kind and welcoming. The service here is fantastic and the breakfast was lovely! My only issue is with the wifi — it’s very slow on the higher floors and disconnects regularly. On the first and second floor, it’s great but this should be addressed as it’s very difficult to get anything done on the network with how often it disconnects. Everything else about my stay was perfect. Loved the spa facility; my massage was excellent!!

A family run small hotel, very attentive staff, super helpful. will stay again for sure.

Very good location & value for money.

Best customer service at any hotel I’ve stayed at in Vietnam. Owner is super friendly and helpful- ended up helping my party get a bus to Cat Ba and gave us a lot of information on the different cruises for Ha Long Bay.

Room was clean and had everything I needed, I was even upgraded to a room with a balcony.

No elevator, so we had to walk up to our room, which is on the last floor. The room was clean, and the owner was very accommodating.
