Not having been to Vietnam before we had no idea what to expect or where to get a hotel. We lucked out with Tung Trang. This is a small family run business. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the price was definitely right. The hotel is located centrally in the Old Quarter and gave us a great base to wander and explore. Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presented itself.

We had a great stay here. The location is excellent, very close to the main attractions but also in a quiet spot that gives some peace from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. The hosts are very kind, caring and helpful, who offered great service to help make our stay comfortable. Plenty of restaurants and attractions close by within walking distance. The balcony in our room was relaxing.

I've stayed in this family-run hotel three times, during two visits to Vietnam, which speaks for itself. Such a great location, welcoming, clean, personable, helpful - adjectives abound. I think the main thing is that feeling of connection and care for you and your stay. It is 'life' itself.

We had a great stay here at Tung Trang Hotel from the moment we arrived the staff were incredibly friendly (especially Trang) and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location was perfect for our needs - conviently situated close to all the key spots we wanted to visit. It really made our stay stress free and enjoyable. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a combination of great service and prime location. We'll definitely be returning!

Over my 6 days spent here I stayed in 3 different rooms, the smallest, and cheapest was perfect place to rest and use as a base to explore Hanoi. The two larger rooms were very well appointed, excellent rooms. As for location there is a street food street if you turn left, and turn right is the Hanoi Cafe, an excellent restaurant. But it's not just about the room, or location it's the staff that add that extra layer of customer satisfaction, and the staff, owners are excellent, I mean really so helpful, and willing to chat, and advise about anything Hanoi. Typhoon Ragasa sadly changed my plans otherwise I would of stayed there again.

Tung Trang Hotel was located in a quiet alley and very convenience to get foods. The room is comfortable and the service is excellent. We lost our way at mid night and called to the hotel. Thank you for the hospitality. I will check in again when I go to Hanoi.

For the price it’s hard to complain but from the get go we had many problems with our room. Firstly, the blanket was quite dirty. Then our door alarm kept going off due to low battery and it took about 2 hours for the guy at the desk to believe that something was actually wrong with the door. Then, the fridge broke and leaked water all over the floor. Finally, we changed rooms and our experience was better, but as we were located right next to the elevator we could hear the elevator going up and down all night long. Most of the staff are very nice and helpful except for the guy that works the overnight shift. Good location off the main road so you get minimal road noise, but as with most cheap hotels, people were in and out all night long causing noise from inside the hotel.

Staff were great; really friendly and accommodating! Really nice location to be in the thick of it but still quiet and relaxing at night so you can escape all of the chaos! Rooms were also really nice although the beds are quite firm but still a very comfortable experience

My partner and I are backpacking Vietnam for a month, traveling from south to north. Tung Trang was the perfect home base! Situated in a quiet alley so that we were able to get a good nights rest, while being in the perfect location, walkable to the old quarters. The family that owns the hotel are very sweet and lovely. Room is not big, but bed is comfortable, sheets are clean, bathroom is updated, balcony with a nice view. What more can you ask for a budget hotel!?

The hotel is in a very central location, but at the same time away from the traffic confusion of Hanoi. It is located on a street that seems a bit isolated but is really very safe. The rooms are small but quite clean (especially for Vietnamese standards). But the strong point of the hotel is the helpfulness of those who work there. Extremely kind and helpful. Plus they also have a travel agency. They really helped me make my trip to Vietnam unforgettable.
