Hotel Ansel in Berat

Me and my friends enjoyed our lunch here. We were served with delicious and large portion of grilled meats with chips and salad, it was really good value. The view of the Berat old town from the restaurant is amazing. We also got good and efficient service from the staff, specifically our fellow Filipino Stephen. Definitely the highlight of our tour in Berat and looking forward to come back.

Nice place to have Albanian food by riverside. Best service I have found all across Albania. I only went for lunch, didn’t stay in the hotel.

We ordered the traditional fixed menu since it’s perfect for tourists who can’t decide. The view is lovely, the service is great, and the food is absolutely delicious.

Service was excellent. The room itself was spacious but given its historical status, the bathroom door was quite flimsy. The place was otherwise clean and perfectly located. The hotel is spread across several buildings. There are quite a few steps uphill- so I wouldn't say this is wheelchair friendly. Breakfast was excellent. The cleaner in the morning was very loud on the phone while cleaning the room opposite us. So we didnt get the lie in we hoped for.

Perfect location in the historic center of Berat. The hotel is a group of old houses with typical decoration. We stayed in a room located in the so-called museum. Typical decor. Bed not very comfortable, but pleasant. Good bathroom. Windows with fabulous views of the river and the other bank of Berat. Please note that access to these rooms is via a steep slope. Difficult to carry luggage. If you have difficulty getting around, do not stay in these rooms. Street parking, with only 3 reserved spaces. If you don't arrive early, parking will be a big problem. The reception is in the restaurant. Good welcome. Friendly guy who showed us the parking spaces and accompanied us to the room carrying part of the luggage. Typical breakfast from the region. It's a plate with typical Berat products. Not very common. A little different from the usual Western breakfasts. The location is perfect. Close to all the attractions of this beautiful city. The climb to the castle can be a little difficult if you have trouble walking. You can always take a taxi In short: Excellent typical hotel, with good facilities.Excelent location Not advisable if you have locomotion problems

The location is fabulous. We stayed in one of the "museum" rooms that is above and separate from the restaurant and main hotel with exceptional views, especially at night. Parking was on the street below (in one of only 2 spaces reserved by the hotel). Please bear in mind that it is a very steep climb (up steps then a narrow cobbled path) to get to these rooms, so getting cases/bags up/down, or even just walking, can be quite a challenge - but worth it overall! We also appreciate that the room style is that of time past... But the wires hanging from the TV could do with a tidy up!

Nice people, good food, great location, nice view on old town of berat, the 1000 windows 😄 - with the family on summer vacations - we enjoyed to eat inside during very hot wheather, it served as an adequate rest and energizer for the afternoon - so we recoomend

This hotel and restaurant is absolutely beautiful! The staff are awesome and the traditional food is excellent!! What a beautiful view from our table. Right across from the white buildings and the bridge. Beautiful place for a date or for your family. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, great staff fantastic breakfast included and access to ancient Besentine Church the castle and walking distance as well as the center of the town for food, entertainment, and so much more. Hotel is amazing. never stayed in a place like this. extremely old architecture and redesigned inside the modern way. Gorgeous views of.Berat.
