Onufri Hotel in Berat

If you are planning a trip to the beautiful city of Berat, I cannot recommend Hotel Onufri highly enough. From the moment we arrived, our experience was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is perfectly situated right in the heart of the historic Mangalem quarter, and while navigating the steep cobblestone streets can be an adventure, the incredibly helpful staff made everything completely stress-free. They went out of their way to assist us with our car and ensured we were comfortable from the very first minute. Their warm hospitality and genuinely nice service truly set the tone for our entire stay.
Our room was nothing short of amazing. It was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, perfectly blending traditional Albanian charm with modern amenities. You can tell the staff takes great pride in their property because the attention to detail and cleanliness in the rooms is flawless.
However, the absolute highlight of our stay was the breathtaking scenery. Because of the hotel’s perfect position on the hill, our room provided a stunning, panoramic view of the famous "City of a Thousand Windows" and the river valley below. Waking up to that view was unforgettable.
If you are looking for an authentic atmosphere, caring staff, spotless accommodations, and some of the best sights in Berat, you should definitely stay here. We had a wonderful time and would return in a heartbeat!

I was very impressed with this hotel. It is clear the ownership takes pride in their hotel and wants their guests to have a great experience. The decor was phenomenal and true to traditional Albania. The room was very large and spacious, traditional Albanian decor, and the ceiling is hand crafted design. Our room on the first floor had large windows and a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff was very kind, professional, and accommodating. The young lady who checked us in was very helpful, friendly, and easy to work with. The food server, Antonio, hooked us up with a driver he personally knows to drive us to Berat Castle; saving us from getting ripped off from local taxi drivers. The complimentary breakfast was amazing! All their food is cooked fresh, and it was a very large amount of delicious food. There was only one negative, that was not part of the hotel; many homes near the hotel own roosters, and the roosters were making non-stop noise close to our window starting from the middle of the night through the morning. I would imagine you will hear these roosters from any hotel. No matter where you stay, expect rooster noise. With that being said, I highly recommend Hotel Onufri!

A beautiful hotel, well located, amazing breakfast, and friendly staff. There's lots of choices in Berat but I recommend this one!

The hotel was very nice, beautifully decorated and neat. The breakfast was a bit confusing since they didn’t give any portions and you knew the dishes only after they served them to the table. But overall experience very nice though.

The location of the hotel is perfect and close to Berat castle. The hotel is beautiful with authentic Albanian architectural style preserved in the smallest details. The staff is very polite, friendly and professional. The breakfast was great and there are multiple restaurants and dining options nearby the hotel. Excellent service and staff and amazing traditional property. We highly recommend this hotel.

We had a one night stay at Hotel Onufri, location was excellent, close to everything, beautiful views from the Terrace. Private parking was invaluable as the Hotel is very near to the Castle which gets very busy. Staff very helpful and Hotel very clean, would definitely recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Onufri for two nights, and I can't recommend it enough! I booked at the last minute and chose this property for its convenient location and beautiful surroundings, and I was not disappointed.

The building itself is stunning, perfectly situated in the charming old town of Beret. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful landlord, which made the check-in process smooth and welcoming. Breakfast was provided and was quite enjoyable, adding to the overall experience.

My room was spacious, quiet, and impeccably clean. The only minor downside was the lack of a hook to hang my clothes and towel in the bathroom. I hope the owner can address this small issue, as everything else was perfect.

Overall, Onufri is an excellent property in Beret, especially for the price I paid. I look forward to returning in the future!

Beautiful hotel in a great location. We stayed in a superior double room with city view and were very pleased. They provided a cot for our baby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace is highly recommended. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Very convenient parking outside and underground.

Stayed in Berat for 2 nights here at the Onufri Hotel. It was our honeymoon so we stayed in one of their larger rooms (they all seemed pretty big). It was clean and beautiful. The ceiling was ornate with wood carvings and very spacious with views of the village and mountains. Mini fridge and large desk. Berat Castle was a short walk away and many restaurants. The bathrooms were clean, spacious with a bidet, toilet, sink and shower. The air conditioning worked great!!! The breakfast was amazing!!! Their housekeeping staff is great! The hotel staff is usually not at the front desk but on the restaurant level (ground floor). We loved our stay here! If we ever come to Berat again this will be our choice.
