ALBON Park in Berat

PROS: Very nicely decorated hotel. The room and bathroom were large and clean. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked flawlessly. The hotel is located in the city center, close to everything. There are plenty of shops and cafes nearby. Perfect for exploring the city. Despite our late arrival (after midnight) and the lack of staff, our reservation wasn't canceled, and keys with our name and room number were waiting at the front desk. A big plus :-). Pet-friendly hotel :-).

CONS: No 24-hour reception. Due to our late arrival (after midnight) and the lack of staff at the front desk, we couldn't use the free private parking. We had to park on the street, and in the morning, we discovered that our car should have been parked in a different direction, which could lead to problems with the police. There was also no information about breakfast times or Wi-Fi access (the lady explained that the information was in the room by the mirror, but there was nothing in the room). Upon check-out, we discovered that card payments weren't possible, especially on that day!!! You have to pay in euros or find an ATM!!!! I don't book a hotel with a card payment option just to spend euros meant for something else or find an ATM when I have other plans!!! The breakfast is terrible. Probably the worst in all of Albania (I haven't had worse ones by any means), and I haven't stayed in four-star hotels all the time. They have something on the table, but there's nothing to choose from. Everything is cold. Only the coffee was hot. The hotel claims to be four stars, but it offers nothing beyond nice rooms. The services offered are on par with a two-star hotel or guesthouse.
