Hotel Klea in Berat

Every once in a while one comes across a special place where there simply aren't enough stars to emphasize how wonderful it is. This is one of those places, if you appreciate authentic rather than the most modern. A beautiful old stone building tucked back at the top of the castle, near the central parking area, with 4 guest rooms, each with old wooden doors, and locks of a similar vintage. The owner, who runs the hotel and restaurant, is super helpful. His mom, along with the rest of the family, does the cooking, and the meals are amazing. As a rule we never eat at the same place twice, but here we made an exception. They also have excellent local wine. Hope you get the chance to experience this.

Amazing hotel inside of the castle. Cosy little rooms but still with everything you need and very clean. The food is great and the owners very nice 😊 One of the best stays of our entire Albania tour, decently recommended!

Wow, what a gem of a hotel! The owners made us feel so welcome, the room was spacious and the beds were comfy, the breakfast was lovely. And what a treat to stay inside the castle walls! Parking is very easy inside the castle too, we approached from the North and it was very easy - just drive through the castle gates. If we return we will 100% stay here again!

You should book Hotel Klea if you are going to Berat.

First of all, the staff are extremely friendly, they help you with your heavy luggage and are always up for a chat. The location within the castle is ideal, a perfect place to explore Berat from the hotel. Tip: if you are coming by car, drive through the second gate, where you can park your car.

The food is delicious and the breakfast served is plentiful and deliciously fresh!

The only downside is that, in my opinion, the beds are a bit hard, but that's a matter of preference.
