Dajti Tower - Hotel Belvedere in Tirana

Very disappointed that the rotating roof bar has been closed for two years. No plans to reopen. Website makes no mention of this, surprise surprise!! If you are going to have a cool drink whilst taking in the ever changing spectacular views, save your money. Cable car ride up is wonderful if hot. But trip a bit of a let down without this bar.

This hotel has so much more potential. It has a wonderful location with great views over the city of Tirana. Unfortunately, our experience here was very disappointing. First of all it was clear that the hotel is understaffed. At reception, we waited for about 5 minutes before anyone pitched up to assist. The lady was friendly and helpful, but the room we were given was extremely hot and the air conditioning did not work. We were then taken to two other rooms of which none of those rooms had functional air conditioning either. With an 38 degree day, this was really important. There were furthermore signs of maintenance neglect everywhere. Furthermore, the hotel doesn't provide dinner at all. It was also extremely quiet and the rotating restaurant on the top floor was closed. This is now like that for about 2 years. Previously we went there and had wonderful times. There are very obvious signs of deterioration and neglect. While we waited to be given back our money, another guest came and complained about the same issues and also mentioned that the bath was not draining. I would have rated them 1 star, but they did pay us back our full 50 Euros without problems and therefore I give 2 stars. Tirana has some other excellent hotels. Do shop around as there are plenty of very good options in the city.
